How do you vote in a caucus? (vanity)

I was wondering how a caucus works, I understand it not like traditional voting where you get a ballot and cast your vote. All I was able to gather was you sit in a group to cast a vote and something about the candidate has to get at least 15%. I have scoured google and haven't been able to come up with anything solid.

Could a fellow freeper step up to the plate and explain this to me and for any other freeper in the same boat as me who doesn't get it?

1. Give 'em some slack.
They're perfectly OK with their leaders being appointed for them. This participatory democracy stuff is very confusing.

2. In all fairness,
caucuses can be confusing to those who live in states that do not use them. Voting by ballot in a primary is still participating in democracy.

4. I'm a political junky . . .
. . . and I've never fully understood how the Iowa Caucuses work. It seems to involve old people, cold nights, and ethanol but that's all I know.
