I saw this simple message written on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper and taped onto a car's rear window today:
It takes work to make peace Not War Let's not be afraid of work
I was pretty impressed.

I think that belongs on the back of my truck. We should all include something like that somewhere to start people thinking. Thanks so much for this.

2. It also take peaceful intentions on the part of ALL parties. |

No pacifist has ever told me how to be peaceful when the other side won't be peaceful. I do know that being strong enough that the bully won't attack works very well.
And war takes a LOT of work to be victorious at it. Anybody can be on the losing end of a war. That takes no work.
Nice words. Nice sentiment. Doesn't work in the real world. Have you ever been the victim of a bully? I was, often as a kid. Then I took karate, and I was never a victim of bullies again. The bullies became peaceful toward me.

It takes two people fighting to have a war.
It only takes one person fighting to have a massacre.

4. I believe the word was "work" |
|
not "unilateral disarmament".
But then, matching arms for arms has produced so much peace throughout world history...
