reserve. Of course, he'd also have the option of releasing some of that gas back into the market in, oh, say, October and November to bring gas prices back down.

Great theory, but does anybody have any link to proof that we're buying oil to top off the strategic reserve?

1. No Proof, but

Jeff Staples and David Tafet (spelling?) on Radio Left assert this, as well. This is not the first I have heard that Bush is buying up oil to fill the reseves while the price is real high to benefit his oil buddies.

and the idea that he'd release it in late Sept-early Oct to gsin popularity by lowering gas prices...I could believe such a Machiavellian manoever by this chimp.

But I think far more serious Machiavellian moves are planned.

For example...i'm betting we already have Osama in custody, and Bush will trot him out right about then to give his popularity a boost.

And I'm betting exit polling, and pre-election polling will bear no resemblance to the final outcome...yes, I truly believe Bush is going to steal this election...any way he can!

Or he's at least gonna TRY!!!
