Could Iowa overshadow Bush's SOTU speech?

I was just thinking about that. Since the race is so close, I bet the news much of the day of *'s speech will be about who won Iowa. I'm not sure that would be the case if someone had a big lead, and the results were more or less anti-climactic.

not be watching the SOTU speech, so I hope it is overshadowed by the winner of Iowa caucus. The speech will be just more lies. He will read it since he is unable to speak without a script. Will the stations allow Democratic response? Or will the media just praise Shrub for being so insightful? The media give him free coverage anytime he wants it. I still say I am waiting for "Breaking News." Bush farted.

Mr. Bush Jr. can do the State of the Union speech any day of the week. The Iowa Caucus is on a specific date. The man has no problem pissing on somebody else’s parade. This has to be the most destructive administration in the history of the United States of America.

Bush is going to use the State of the Union speech to raise his sagging approval ratings. Insiders who've seen a draft of the speech have hinted at the main points he'll cover. Here are the high cards he's likely to play:

16. I am somewhat optimistic about press coverage of Bush's lies in the SOTU.

Turd Blossom Rove is confident that Bush can always lie and get away with it, but this year may be different. Since it is an election year, there will be a lot more critical focus on what he says. Even the obedient media likes to play "Gotcha" in an election year. Plus, the fiscal conservatives will jump all over his spending proposals and his criticism of Congress for spending too much. Bush may hurt himself with his lies this year. I think it actually could be pretty bad for Bush.
