Zell Miller: What are the rules if any for party ouster?

Obviously Zell will do more damage campaigning as a "Democrat for Bush" than as a simple ship jumper and that's the whole point. But is there any circumstance in which he could be stripped of his party affiliation? If not (because Dems don't want to send a message that we are "not inclusive") I'm not sure why I don't see prominent Dem leadership (is there any) publicly decrying his total lack of principles. He should be publicly called out and asked to join the Republican party if he's going to support their policies and presidential candidate...

He's obviously not going to vote with any Dem bloc, so his presence as a "number" among the Dems is of no value. His party affiliation is only of value to the Republicans as propaganda.

Has there been any calling out by prominent Dems? Seems that this is something that whoever the nominee is ought to do BTW. It is certainly an easy issue to comment on without even being unduly harsh, just pointing out the fact that the guy does this and doesn't change parties shows that he is by definition unprincipled.

I see this topic raised from time to time but have seen no facts presented.

the team. I hate the thought of Miller being a super delegate. They should at least pass a rule that if you are campaigning for the enemy, you can't be a delegate.

This would be an excellent time to abolish the autocratic, superdelegate. The politicians can be delegates, but let them have no more sway than any other elected delegates. :thumbsup:

This position will also give Zell the opportunity to be a keynote speaker for shrub at the Nazi convention, while allowing him to also participate in the Democratic Convention. We don't need superdelegates, and certainly not the ones who feel they no longer need us!

8. I haven't found any rules for party expulsion

in the Senate, but I found this one article from New York for a candidate that the party tried to have expelled, but failed.

I hope there are procedures in the Senate for removal of party affiliation for that turd Zell. I'm still looking.

when Democrats win in November. As has been said "there is no fool like an old fool". His book will make him look like a fool. I do wish there was something that could be done about him before then but if not off into the sunset he'll go after the election.

The day Bush came to Atlanta to lay a wreath on Dr. King's crypt, Miller had the nerve to introduce him at the Republican fundraiser which was the real reason for the Bush visit. It was disgusting to see his ugly face on TV that evening.

But perhaps a class-action lawsuit from people who thought they were donating to the campaign of a Democrat might be useful. I'd sure feel defrauded if I'd donated to his campaign.

Of course, it would be thrown out because the precedent it would set would make it impossible to hold office, but the publicity would at least show where he stands with *real* Democrats.
