Neocon makes case to arrest & execute anti-war Democrat Congressmen

The neocon cabal is beginning to make the case for imprisoning – or possibly executing – members of Congress who oppose the war in Iraq. An example of this development is a December 23 Insight magazine article by senior editor J. Michael Waller entitled "When Does Politics Become Treason?" (Insight is an appendage of the Washington Times, the voice of the Washington, D.C. neocon establishment. Just before our May 2002 Independent Institute debate on Lincoln, Straussian neocon high priest Harry Jaffa made it a point to tell me that he is the chairman of the academic advisory committee of the Washington Times, where his colleague MacKubin Thomas Owens had just published an intemperate and apoplectic hatchet job on my book, The Real Lincoln, only a few weeks after all but comparing Jaffa’s latest book on Lincoln to the Bible in the same book review section.)

The article in the Washington Times............

If the link doesn’t work just click on the Washington Times link in the first paragraph of the article from the link at the top. What's next with these Nazis?

2. What a shock. What did you think the Patriot Act was for?
Homeland Security is HS instead of SS but it's the same damn thing.

Ridge was picked because he going to look great in a black leather trench coat.

Members of Congress, huh? Oh, those boys are very fond of their privileges.

Maybe now they'll get angry?

3. Wow. I was brought up believing that MURDER is wrong, not PREVENTING IT.
What is up with these people? Amazing the Times would even publish this! More intimidation tactics from obviously some predatory individuals.

This is like some of those rabid pro-lifers who want to target women and intimidate and control people from speaking out on the truth.

4. Let them try to make their case.
The lines will quickly be drawn. And they will lose. But maybe it really does need to come to a head....I fear this country will not be able to maintain a Jeckel/Hyde personality much longer...

7. Why this is bullshit
first of all, the War College also thinks that Bush's war on terror is the wrong tactic, and that the war on Iraq was a diversion.

so is the military supposed to arrest itself for agreeing with some dems??

Lincoln was president when the very continuation of the nation was at stake, and when the slave holders wanted to be allowed to continue to deny people basic human rights...and this is like now in what way???

The author goes on about leaking classified information. Funny, he can't seem to find a way to mention, for the sake of honesty and balance, that Bush has not made any effort to find out who, in the upper levels of his administration, revealed the name and business cover of a CIA operative who was involved in WMD intell.

...and a dem who questions the illegal Iraq invasion is potentially treasonous...so what does that make the person in the White House administration--part of the axis of evil?

FDR was a war time president, who not only had to contend with Republicans who opposed his actions and were quite public about it (I've read the articles in the NYTimes from the era),

but, he also had to contend with a plan to assassinate him by American fascists in the duPont family and from J.P. Morgan's company.

If the Republicans want to try to set a precedent about what is or is not treason in war time...let's bring up that old issue and educate the Americans about who was on the side of this nation and who sided with the Nazis.

But considering the neocons also thought that Iraqis would greet them with flowers and offers to be subject to the puppet regime of the neocon's choosing,

and considering that North and Perle thought the Russian soldiers would gladly desert when fighting against the mujahadeen...

these people obviously don't have a very close relationship with reality.

doesn't make them any less dangerous, but makes it all the important to make sure they lose power and have to resort to lurking in some "think" tank with padded cells while the rest of the world gets back to some sanity.

10. So what would this make Dick Cheney?
His company, Haliburton, of which he was CEO in 1998, was actively trading with Iraq. There was a US embargo at the time and he circumvented US law by doing it through subsidiaries in Europe.

Doesn't that constitute treason?

12. Yes they were, because they - unlike demonRATS -
understand the importance of putting aside mere political differences and supporting the president when our troops are in danger zones.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

That was sooooooo NOT!

Thanks for the chuckle. :-)

I hate the attitudes of these people. And I hate the idiocy of the American people who can't even remember just a few years ago, and notice all the hypocritical dangerous BS going on. It's gone way beyond mere political differences - these people are truly a menace to the safety of the entire world and certainly the future viablity of this country as we know.

But thankfully, the tide is slowing turning, and Shrub's little house of cards is slowly falling down... my only fear is, now that he's cornered and knows that he's in trouble, he'll engineer another 9-11 right before the elections, and everything will be moot, because all the morons who might have been hating Shrub for the last five months will suddenly forget that they thought he was dangerous,a nd start saying, "Time of war, can't change presidents now, gotta vote for Shrub, he's a warrior you know."

Ahhhhh. I don't know if I should be pissed, incensed, upset, or laugh at the pure cosmic tragedy of it all.

14. How to stop another 9/11 before it happens
I'm with you, the only card * has left is to do another 9/11.

We have to spread the word: if America is attacked, it will be because * failed to protect us.
