His dripping-with-sarcasm comments today on McNabb demonstrate yet again that Rush is the King of Hatred. Who beat this guy up on the playground in fifth grade? Don't forget who has done more than any other figure in American history to demean political discourse, and don't forget that Bush/Cheney/Rove/Card have done all they can to root him on.

The forum was rather entertaining. Funny thing is, I found Ingraham to be the odd one out -- Carlson was pretty measured and reasonable in his responses, even if I didn't agree with them. Ingraham realizes that she has to tone it down a couple of notches in a forum like that -- but her shrillness can't help but shine through.

Franken was OK. He had some good points, and others he didn't come through on -- but he was entertaining as ever. That part where Carlson was imitating his obsession with Fox News and Ann Coulter and Franken imitated Tucker imitating him was priceless.

Alterman was, well, Alterman. His analyses are detailed and well-founded -- but he just doesn't play well in an audiovisual medium. His strength will always be in print.
