Jack Trice is a hero. But few know his story. His death in 1923 left a legacy and deep impression in Iowa.

"Just the fact that he got out there, the first African-American, and they gave him the opportunity and now everything is dedicated to him," Billups said. "He might not be as big as Martin Luther King and guys like that, but is big around here. It's good to know that you're playing for a guy with the same ethnic background and just to go out there and give everything you've got."
