Stein and Franken

CNN is putting Ben Stein and Al Franken on opposite on another in a few minutes. I've often thought to myself that these two would make an excellent team for a "rational" debate show.

They are both WAY more intelligent than anyone hosting Crossfire. They are both funny. They are both personable. They are both well spoken and courteous. If CNN doesn't do "Stein and Franken" than Comedy Central HAS TO!!!! ;-)

BTW, it would have to be "Stein and Franken". Otherwise the show would sound like a horror movie "Franken-Stein" ;-)

11. My Mom died New Year's Day

and I ain't laughing.... but understand why he might. It is definitely a defense mechanism. He was saying he missed some event because he had a family crisis to deal with, then realized he didn't want to use the word "crisis" but -- I'm guessing here -- couldn't think of another word. He said "It wasn't a crisis, she was 85."

Been there... My Mom's death was expected, she was 84. But it was still hard and I needed to be there.

RIP, Mrs. Franken! Thank you for such a great son!

like he did Arianna Huffington on Bill Maher's show sometime back? That seems to be his "secret weapon" in debates. hehe
