ever by a sitting president. It laid out perfectly the agenda of George W Bush and a radical, right-wing Congress, led by Tom Delay, Bill Frist, and others. The only right-wing issue not mentioned was abortion. Why? I guess they must think there is no more political mileage in it or else they did not want to piss off the women vote.
And what did he mean when he talked about not getting "a slip to get permission to defend our country"?? What the hell was he talking about? Did he mean not getting a slip for permission to invade another country preemptively that was not a threat to us? It looks so much better when they frame it as "defending our country"? What were we defending our country from by invading Iraq?
Every item on the right-wing agenda was touched by Mr Bush. He makes no effort to unite this country. Screw 'em! We got the numbers! He seems to be saying. We will tell you how to live a righteous live, we will test your kids for drugs in the schools, we will give your tax dollars to Pat Robertson and other church groups, we will prevent you from having any rights that we do agree with. It was the most radical right-wing SOTU speech i have ever heard.
