5. Holt and Graham

Rush Holt (NJ-D) authored HR2239 in May 2003, and it has over 100 cosponsors. At the urging of constituents, Bob Graham (FL-D) introduced (essentially, a photocopy of the bill) in early December.

The bill is not as strong as it could be, but we are standing firmly behind them as they are a great start. Some strengthening and refining, during conference, would be helpful.

I attended a town hall meeting on Friday put on by my Congressman, Ron Kind, and brought up BBV. I asked for his support on Rush Holt's repair bill and he spoke very supportively of it and Rep. Holt's efforts.

Whether or not he will sign on as co-sponsor he didn't say.

If I get a chance tomorrow, I will give his office a call.
