Another Backdoor Attack on Vets
Disclosure: This is from www.military.com which sends me their newsletter every week. Sometimes I enjoy the stories, sometimes I don't. I don't think I'd call it a RW source, but perhaps someone else might. This article is CERTAINLY not RW though.

"In return for the risks we took, we were promised adequate health benefits and certain services. We trusted our government's word. Today, a great number of vets and retirees only keep off the poverty rolls because of military hospital treatment, reduced grocery prices at the commissaries, and prescription drug benefits. And please don't misunderstand - many of these proud American veterans and retirees would still defend this nation today. They've already proved their loyalty with actions, not empty words."

1. Did you know that Omnibus bill
includes some spending for vets but in the same bill it has deleted the provision that would prevent the Labor Dept. from adopting new overtime rules that would eliminate OT pay protections for certain workers?

Why do they always include a mishmash of things that would contradict what people would want?? Why can't they just pass one bill at a time. This is done by both parties, I might add.

2. The 5-sided wind tunnel
And I'm sure all of these cuts are just the beginning. Perhaps the author of that article will be lamenting in a few years how his copay is going up to $30 instead of $20. Or that he isn't getting treatment. This certainly shows the need for a universal health care system, one beyond profiting from chaos and death and suffering.

The movement has only just begun.
