McCain BEAT Bush 61-19 in New Hampshire in 2000
Edited on Wed Jan-21-04 10:01 PM by madison
Please, let's try to remember that, in New Hampshire in the year 2000, Republican John McCain swamped George W. Bush, 61-19 percent.

---- This post is inaccurate, please see below.--

Bush re-grouped and went on to be president (by hook or by crook).

But the point is he beat McCain in later primary states. Bush did not give up; he fought on.

"In 2000, about 40 percent of voters in both the Republican and Democratic primaries identified themselves in exit polls as independents. Bill Bradley (news - websites) defeated Al Gore (news - web sites), 55-43 percent, among independents on the Democratic side; Republican John McCain swamped George W. Bush, 61-19 percent, on his way to a landslide victory over the future president."

7. Well, you are certainly correct about that
Well, you are certainly correct about that - and I am sorry I posted misinformation. I thought it would be accurate since it was by Ron Fournier at the Associated Press.

I'm sorry.

My point is still valid though; Bush was trounced in New Hampshire, but the media pundits did not write him off - and he went on to win the White House.
