$1.5 B for defense of marriage?
OK, I'm stumped. I really don't get it.

What is the $1.5 B supposed to do? Lobby for the FMA? Fund programs that somehow defend marriage? Defend it from what? From divorce? From being entered into frivolously? From being extended to include same sex unions?

And WHERE is that money going to come from? Oh, right, borrow and spend, the republican version of tax and spend.

Is there ANY governmental spending * opposes?

1. He opposes lots of spending...
Disregarding the measly 120 million for community college grants (gag) his no child left behind has sucked the school systems dry.

6. But that job-training total - nearly 10 PERCENT of marriage defense $!!
And gosh, given the number of community colleges nationwide, it might amount to hundreds, maybe even THOUSANDS of dollars in extra funding for each institution.

Wow!

2. You've GOTTA read this Morford column:
Snip:

Man, those inner-city poor people sure are dumb.

Just look at 'em, popping out babies like crazy and draining the welfare system like there's no tomorrow, all while remaining completely unable to either get or stay married in their sad, un-Christian, gangsta-rap lives. Pathetic.

And oh my God, those damnable gays. Would you just look at them, fighting for basic human rights, whining about wanting to get married, as if they knew anything about God's manly, flag-waving, 100 percent heterosexual love?

Clearly it's some sort of flaming pagan sorcery those gays used to persuade all those misguided states to suddenly begin to offer more and more rights to gay couples, granting civil unions and nearly full benefits and allowing them to copulate and hold hands in public and sodomize each other with strange phallic-shaped devices in the privacy of their own homes, even in Texas.

I mean, what the hell is the world coming to? And what, pray tell, is a self-righteous, homophobic, God-thumping, conservative administration that constantly kowtows to the preening Christian Right to do about all this?

5. Like the proposal to transitition prisoners, the marriage
proposal will be administered by 'faith' based organizations. A transfer of wealth from your tax dollars to approved (not Islamic or
scientology) 'religious' institutions.
