Check out this exchange from Hardball's SOTU coverage
Edited on Thu Jan-22-04 08:01 PM by Skinner
From Tuesday night...

Mathews, Fineman, and Noonan had been masturbating eachother for about an hour about how great Bush's speech was, etc...

It was a sickening fantasy world of mediawhores.

Then they cut to Bob Kur, the correspondent at the White House. Kur tried to bring some reality into the discussion - talking about the economy and what the democratic candidates are saying.

Mathews became almost visibly agitated that Kur dare break into their fantasy world of * blowjobbing...

A magic, sacramental moment! LOL! What a moron!

snip

BOB KUR, MSNBC NEWS CORRESPONDENT: Chris, they would never call it a double. Of course, he swung for the fences and he made it.

But one of the tests is going to come early on tomorrow. He‘s going to take this speech on the road tomorrow and the next day. He‘s going to go to Ohio. He‘s going to go to New Mexico. He‘s going to go to Arizona, as well.

And what we‘re being told is, those events are going to focus largely on job training and the economic issues. Ohio, for example, he won it last time, but there is some concern about the economy there.

I‘ve been listening to you guys and gals tonight, and your guests, Chris, and it does seem to me watching this here, that the President was really trying to play what he considers his ace.

2. That exchange was disgusting.....
Matthews is having an orgasim because Bush went to the rubble of the World Trade Center and stood with the older firefighter and told the people that those repsonsible will hear from us. WOW!!! That was an incredible moment....it changed everything....give me a break. An OBJECTIVE analysis of what Bush did after 911 will tell anyone that Bush did not do anything different than other presidents would have done....it did take a month for us to attack the terrorist back....why did it take that long?

I just do not see what Bush did so special after 911. NOTHING. Matthews has this love affair with Bush that I just do not understand.....he is really weird. He needs serious help.

3. I truly think Matthews was subjected to some kind of psyops.
If anyone has a better explanation, I'll listen. But his opinions are just too inconsistent and radical to be sane.

8. Naturally they don't mention President Clinton
President Clinton who had nothing to gain by being in New York was there a day before Bush* and really pitched in and helped the people not just for a photo op but because he genuinely cared. How did President Clinton get to New York before Bush* when he was in Australia and all airlines had been grounded? Mention that one Matthews. You want to blow smoke up everyone's ass fine but tell the truth. Why did it take Bush* three days to arrive in New York? And exactly what did he do there?

4. Mu suggestion:
Relax. Nobody but us and a few tens of thousands watches this crap anyhow. The corporate media is gonna go for Bush - that's a given. What people do respond to are letters to the editor in local papers. So, if you're pissed, start writing. And don't worry about things you can't change.

And, of course, "be emphatic, vote straight Democratic"

6. but the "Mission accomplished" moment is more memorable
both for Bush and Tweety/Fineman, that's the defining image.

I just emailed Tweety that I remember how he and Fineman slobbered all over Bush for his carrier landing. :-)

7. How many times a day does Tweety have to wipe off his chin?
And wouldn't his jaw be tired after three years of non-stop chimpanzee fellatio?

9. On the otherhand, Tweety couldn't stop making fun of
Bush's "evidence of weapons of mass destruction program activities," and how that contrasted w Bush's assertion in last yrs SOTU.

10. WTF?
"And people cherish that picture of our leader standing up for us, in righteous indignation and in the promise of deliverance."

Nobody wants to see that picture removed from our souls.

Wow, some fools really do believe Bush* is Jesus Christ, Superstar.

12. a MAGIC, SACRAMENTAL MOMENT ?!?!?
:puke: :puke: :puke:
"And people cherish that picture of our leader standing up for us, in righteous indignation and in the promise of deliverance."
NOT ME!
I remember Crusader Bunnypants running around the country hiding. The firefighters remember that the money to update their equipment has not come. How extraordinary is it to stand on a pile of rubble and sound tough?
