Do you buy Dean's answer about
just trying perk up the 3500 Dean volunteers? Do you accept it? Are we done yet?

1. What else would he be trying to do?

And we are finished, but the media isn't. Not even close.

11. Dean did NOT go bonkers..
Edited on Thu Jan-22-04 10:22 PM by PaDUer
What Dean did was to motivate the people..Who wants to listen to someone in the same tone of speech. Motivation is what people need and the media spun it out of proportion to try to ruin Dean after the media was promoting Dean. Did you forget who's controling the media? Dean didn't do anything wrong..I guess you've never been involved in sales and have never been to a business meeting or you'd see how big companies and people do things to build momentum and to get people moving and get more people involved. I think it's a shame that the media is doing another brainwashing job!

3. Dean did well
But too much image damage has been done. He worked very hard at being restrained tonight. But there will always be the question--when will this guy blow up next? Too much to ride the future of a party on.

5. No He's A Big Fat Liar
of course he was trying to perk up those volunteers who worked so hard and thought for sure they were going to be victorious.

7. I saw so many of them and they were so full of hope
I gave rides to a few here in Iowa, and I can't imagine how they felt after the nubers came out.

Oh how I wish we had a head count and not a delegate count from Iowa. Dean would have done much better with a head count.

8. Yeah, I buy it. He's just being Dean.
And that is the problem. I was in the Dean camp until that incident. While I like his attitude, his behavior was unpredictable. Right now, that's the last thing people want in a president. Perhaps in peace time it would not be a problem.

If Dean does not win the nomination, I hope he goes into talk radio. I really, really enjoy hearing him rip into Bush*. He is one of the *few* Democratic leaders that makes me proud of the Democratic party.

9. It's all style, so lets elect Arnold or Ronnie or a Ken Doll
It's a shame that otherwise intelligent people want to treat national politics like it's "American Idol". When Fox says "oh he's a mean angry man" it means "we who make the images make the choices". It's stupid that you join them. Talk about issues.

I think that gives me an edge on this question. It was really needed and I'm glad he did it.

Thats exactly what he was doing.

The media wants ratings and it's part of the game to try and get the audience talking about what they heard on ...what ever station or program. It's tabloid journalism. Sad, but true, and were stuck with it for now.

13. the more I see the speech, the more I like it
I hope they keep playing it so people can see for themselves.

They'll realize that once again they've been lied to by the media.
