Was the US not invited to the World Economic Forum??
Christiane Amanpour is interviewing Musharraf from Davos, and it occurred to me that Bush is NOT there.. Of course we all know that he knows nothing of international finance or foreign policy, but shouldn't he at least BE there?? Perhaps they could hold the next one at the Pigfarm in Crawford next time:)

1. Ashcroft is there. ASHCROFT!?

DAVOS, Switzerland -- One year after he faced a broad wave of anti-American sentiment here, U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft returned Thursday to the World Economic Forum in this Alpine village to say America was winning the war on terrorism and to promote a new campaign to assail global corruption.

Ashcroft was the most senior U.S. official to address the annual forum as Washington seeks to swing international opinion behind its vision of a transfer of political authority in Iraq. Vice President Dick Cheney is also expected to attend the gathering. At his previous appearance in January 2003, just weeks before the invasion of Iraq, Ashcroft and others, including Secretary of State Colin Powell, confronted business and political leaders whose mood varied from skepticism to hostility toward America's military intentions in the Middle East. Ashcroft also faced wide criticism of the harsh measures he had taken to combat terrorism.

2. Not Bush's kind of place
you're expected to make speeches to intelligent audiences who haven't been hand picked, or hold meaningful conversations with perceptive world leaders and successful businessmen. Incurious George doesn't do intelligent discussion.

3. But, but Bush is a MBA from Harvard.
And he cut his teeth on all those companies he ran.
