Limbaugh lawyer public response is itself preposterous.

Roy Black pitched his offer to prosecutors -- entry into drug rehabilitation with no jail. Of course, it was really no "offer" at all; it was clear that treatment was the minimum, from a self-preserving health standpoint alone, that Limbaugh would face. Prosecutors said no dice, you gotta give more: at least plead guilty to a doctor-shopping felony.

Now Black says the counteroffer was "preposterous." But Black had to have known, in making his initial offer, that the response would not be precisely what he asked for -- that's why it's called "bargaining."

Black must have realized that there is always opportunity for a middle ground (say, a misdemeanor possession plea, perhaps). Instead, however, he has taken everything off the table, at least in public.

If that's really the way Black is posturing his case, even behind the scenes, then there's every reason to suspect they'll now throw the book at Limbaugh.

1. Maybe Black remembers the things said about him by Rush
I could think of nothing sweeter than to take a huge chunk of change from Rush and see that he gets what he deserves while pretending to do what he can for him.

2. Hmmm
This may all be a bargaining posture and Black will change his mind. It sure as heck would be funny if he meant it, though. I'd enjoy watching this a *lot* more than the Martha Stewart trial.

4. Please go to trial?
Exposition A: This is a document from Mr, Limbaughs bank that clearly shows classic evidence of money luandering.

Objection! This is a liberal conspiracy bent on destroying my client! Let the all knowing and all caring El Rushbo love you!

5. Hmmm, if we can get OxyRush on the stand and let him vent for a little bit
there's no doubt he'd lie about something, then we can spack him with a perjury charge... he'd be just like his buddy Clinton then!
