Who will be the GOP presidential candidates in 2008...

Of course hopefully whoever they pick will be challenging the 44th President of the United States but who will they pick?

Dick Chenney - I'd say this is doubtful. America isn't particularly fond of him and his heart condidtion doesn't help.

Collen Powell - If the GOP can manage to manipulate him, he will probably be their first choice. But I don't think he'll run.

John Ashcroft - Who knows, maybe he'll run a campaign to amend the constitution by striking out all parts of the first ammendment.

Tom DeLay - Luckilly most Americans that know who this guy is know that he's a complete fascist. Don't think he's getting anywhere.

Bill Frist - He seems most likely at this point. The only reason he might not be running is that they wouldn't choose him for majority leader if they knew he was going to resign 4 years later for a presidential campaign.

Rick Santorum - Fascist Republican but he comes from a Gore state. If Frist doesn't run he seems like a likely choice.

Jeb Bush - What can I say, I don't think I can live through another Bush presidency.

Having moved to Florida, he appears to stand for the exact things his brother does, but is not as ape-like. If Chimp can sit in the White House and do as well has he did in the election, his brother Jeb can take it. He apparently banks on charm and stands for some aweful things. The latest is some sort of religious prisons. God the horrors. He claims these will be religion non-specific, but in the speech where he talked about it, he spouted about Jesus Christ. You KNOW that those prisons are going to treat all inmates equally. SARCASM OFF.

I think he's probably going to be in the field, the fact that they made him Senate Majority Leader indicates that (to me). It increases his stature; he's now the fourth-highest ranking Republican in government.

Governor Mitt Romney (R-Mass) might run, I think. I doubt Jeb Bush or Rick Perry will, just because they look like another Bush.

As for Ashcroft - he's not electable, and Colin Powell is most likely retiring from politics within the year. Plus, how many cabinet members go straight to the Presidency? It was commonplace in the 1800's but not so much anymore.

6. Jeb without a doubt

He's been preening himself for this down here in Florida (practicing political repression, raping the environment, smirking, cutting taxes, beating down the poor, etc.) since he became governor. Florida is a microcosm of what goes on nationally. He is sleezier and more evil than his big brother, too. If he makes it into office, we will be in deep doo-doo. On the bright side, he looks like he might be easily distracted by donuts.

13. My dream scenario: Rudy Giuliani vs. Jeb: Civil War meets the primaries

If we lose this time around, there are two people I'd love to see run in 2008, Jeb and Giuliani. They're both popular within the Repuke ranks. However, a fierce battle between them in the primaries would lead to a painful sectional split....causing Giuliani to carry the Northeast, half of the Midwest, and the West Coast. Ol' Jeb would be pinned in Dixie (presumably getting Rove's help in SC to launch a McCain redux against Rudy. Giuliani is fairly moderate, and Southerners would never vote for him because God guns and gays). Both candidates would be horribly split between delegates, that a brokered convention will nominate Jeb, causing Rudy and handful of Northern delegates to bolt and go third party. A lot of Repukes would vote for him, leading to a HUGE sectional Repuke split. Unfortunately, Giuliani's body will be floating in the Hudson c/o the BFEE if that ever happens.
