An excellent video about the morale of USA troops in Iraq

I watched this last night on the CBC....It's a report about the morale of American troops in Iraq...It's quite an eye opener....

"Everything about this war has been a lie"...an AWOL soldier

"Soldiers are just naturally curious"...the response of Pentagon spokeman Lt.Col Franklin Childress when told soldiers are looking for info about going AWOL on a hot line for servicemen run by an alliance for peace group from across the USA...He also says "seeing caskets returning to the USA is so impersonal...it just looks like a statistic of numbers. It takes the honour and dignity out of it."

There's a woman who's husband, a 20 year forces veteran helped set up radio & television stations for the Iraqis. Then the army started using these stations to pump out army propoganda..He can't wait till his hitch is up and will get out of the army.
The video is about 12 mins. and is very revealing.

4. They made excellent points....the officer in the pentagon is like a robot

spewing the 9-11 connection. How sadly pathetic.

How absurd to mention the guys who have lost limbs "want to return to their units" as if they want to continue the good work being done in Iraq. He knows damn well there is guilt for leaving these others behind. It's all so fresh they have not had time to de-compress and grasp the reality they face now...thanks to this lying thief in office.

The woman in the video is courageous. Thanks for posting this.

I mean for shit sakes....if you are going to attempt to rationalize a war...you'd better come up with someone better than this to do it. This guy probably sees himself as a future Colin Powell. He's thinking....surely if I tell lies, spread misconception, disinformation and wrap them up in a haze of obfuscation...someone up there will notice and I'll be rewarded.

Jagoffs like he and Powell exemplify the mentality of the sort who had a clear conscience after gassing Jews for Hitler....or covering up the Mia Li massacre...oh wait...Colin Powell did cover of the Mia Li massacre.
