Do you think Bush was AWOL or a deserter?

I have a 2 parter question:

1) Now that we have a better understanding of the definitions of AWOL and deserter (based a previous discussion question), do you think Bush should be thought of as AWOL or as a deserter? Does anyone know of any proof or not that Bush had the intent of returning? Did he return?

2) "Deserter" came from Michael Moore's mouth, not Clark himself. It seems ridiculous that Clark is taking the blame for something Moore said that Clark couldn't prove or disprove at the time. It seemed to me that Clark really wanted to stay out of that whole issue - he was in a no win situation. Do you think Clark should have answered differently?

I prefer to view his conduct in the Guard as the antics of a spoiled rich kid whose politically connected father put him above the laws that govern this country, and who still behaves as if he is above the laws that govern us.

To me that is far worse than being AWOL or a deserter.
