Has anyone heard of a voter switching TO Bush?

I was listening to callers on C-Span today, some of whom say they had voted for Bush, but are switching to the Democratic Party. You hear these kind of stories all of the time.

This caused the proverbial light bulb to come on over my head. Has anyone heard of an instance of someone who voted for Gore switching to the Republican Party? Since Gore got more votes than Bush in the first place, this sounds like pretty good news to me.

I read that Clint Eastwood was Republican, and switched to Independent. Last time I heard, he was defending the Dixie Chicks. I bet they've lost more than they've gained, celebrity-wise.

I don't know we can take that for a given. He may not have openly endorsed Bush in 2000, but he jumped on his bandwagon after the inaugural pretty quickly.

And he was voting very right-wing pre-2000, as far as I recall.

I went back to my home in the north suburbs of Illinois over the winter, and I noticed that most of my friend's parents, who were also incidentally Reagan Democrats, who voted for Gore are going to vote for Bush in the GE. It leads me to fear that perhaps Nixon's "Silent Majority" may re-emerge to give Bush another term.
