Did anyone see Theresa Heinz Kerry on Hardball?

If you get a chance to hear the last part of the interview she has the most honest straightforward reason why Dubya should not be reelected.

The gist of what she said was that when Bush was elected he was incurious and he did not grow into job. The world is complicated and Bush viewed everything as a simplistic problem to be thrown away. Unless Bush starts listening to the American people he does not deserve to be relected.

You really really need to hear it. She says it much better than I.

And commented to my husband how eloquent I thought it was. I was a little concerned that she was going to go by the centrist Dem playbook and praise Bush, but she carefully chose her words and provided an elegant, insightful response -- very impressive.

8. My wife and I were having a lot of fun

talking to her in the crowd when we couldn't get to Kerry.. she's a WONDERFUL lady, a lot of fun and no stick in the mud and VERY smart..

I was joking about Bush's wife being the "First Prozack Lady" and she said, "Oh be nice, I've met her and she's a nice lady, she can READ.."

I said,"Well, someone has to be able to read to Bush.." and she laughed..

she even invited us to go along with them to the Carol King concert that night, but it was too late and we were burned out, I thanked her for being so gracious and begged off..

-- a great First Lady for the U.S., but she would be a global presence. I think of Nancy Reagan and shudder. That Just Say No era was such a load of banal crap. It would be great to have some heritage and dignity restored to the role of First Lady, only with Theresa Heinz Kerry it would have global reach and influence.

She's a winner.

MATTHEWS: I‘m out of time here. I have to do one tough question.

Do you think George W. Bush deserves a second term?

HEINZ KERRY: Oh, God. You know, I don‘t think anybody really deserves to be president, if you really think of the responsibilities.

But I must say, he came in with a lack of curiosity and interest about the job. And I think that the results of that was offending a lot of people around the world and really, almost seemingly, being afraid to think on the complex problems that we live in as opportunities, but rather as silos to be disposed of.

And, you know, the world is really a very complex, but very interesting place. And I think you can‘t have someone who is afraid to be Socratic or is afraid to really go there, who is afraid to even make a fool of themselves, only because they‘re thinking out loud, not because they‘re not thinking.

And so I would say, Mr. President, if you want to stay there, please listen to Americans. Don‘t tell them.

I haven't made up my mind yet on which candidate that I prefer and the primary may already be decided by the time it makes it here to FL but both Kerry and Dean's wives are very impressive. I've heard John Edwards wife is also very well spoken but haven't had the chance to hear her. Their wives will be a factor in my decision. A big difference I notice between Democratic males and Republicans is that we seem to prefer independent intelligent women as wives. There are exceptions on both sides but it seems to be the general case to me. Symbolman, you're a lucky dog. I'd love to meet both of the Kerrys.

16. My husband made the same comment to me last night after

he watched her. He had never seen her before and he said, "That woman is really sharp and she gave the best comment about why Bush shouldn't be president." He also said it was not said in a negative way, but in a very matter-of-fact way. I'm sorry I missed it now since so many people are impressed with her statements!

19. She is well liked in W. PA, and is active in many charitible

organizations- especially the Heinz Foundation which funds a lot of environmental projects. If Kerry is nominated , she would help a lot here.
