2. We will need, Florida, Virginia, and West Virginia. |
|
We will need at least one southern state in order to win. Take Missouri and Nevada and we will have a comfortable margin in the electoral college.

Look at the electoral college.
Arizona would do it alone.
Ohio would be enough.
Nevada and West Virginia would work.
Nevada and New Hampshire would work, too.
There are lots of ways to win without a single southern state.

9. Assuming that we don't lose |
|
any Gore states. This is NOT a sound assumption. It may well happen, but to assume that it will is, well, not serious thinking. there were some other close states besides Florida

4. We don't want it to be close, right? |

The more decisive the better, so lets try for some southern states, OK. And don't forget the northern ones, take nothing for granted.

There's a fun little interactive map on the John Edwards site. When I get bored at work I pretend I'm Katherine Harris and decide which state goes to which party. It really wouldn't take that much.

8. You need at least one or two states in the mix to insure |
|
electoral victory.
Check your history on Arizona.
It is much more likely WE WOULD carry a southern state than win there.
