Is Rudy Giuliani a chicken hawk?
I've been googling and can't find anything on his military record. If * dumps Cheney for Rudy, that could mean another chicken hawk in charge.

11. Is this the latest criteria for statesmen?
Whether or not they served time in the armed forces and experienced live war action at the time?

Sorry, but there is a whole list of things I would like to know about Giulliani. His military record is not one of them.

2. Can I Ask A Question Here???
I have a question.

Bill Clinton ordered troops into battle.

Bill Clinton never served in the military.

Was Bill Clinton a "chicken hawk"?

Does being a "chicken hawk" really make that much of a difference?

That's really two questions.

Sorry.

7. Bill Clinton is not a "chicken hawk"
Edited on Wed Jan-28-04 02:09 PM by dennis4868
In my opinion, to be a chicken hawk you have to:

1. not have served in the us military; and

2. use the military for your own or others (who are close to you) benefit; and

3. be a person who gloats about being a great protector of the US military.

Yes, Clinton did not serve in the military. But there is no question he was not a president who was licking his chops to get into a fight and war with another country just to show who is strongest and also so that companies like Halliburton came make billions off of it....

8. A chickenhawk is someone who...
thinks war is just great, as long as someone else fights it. Clinton was against the Vietnam War and didn't serve. Bush and Cheney, et al, thought the Vietnam war was just great, but made sure they didn't fight in it. It's called hypocrisy.

9. Then I guess John Kerry should cool it
instead of pointing out that people like Tom DeLay, Dick Cheney, George Bush, Richard Pearle, Paul Wolfowitz, and most of the Republican Congress are the ones most eager to send our troops into battle.

3. I don't think Rudy was in the service, but I also don't know
that he's a big warmonger. I think that's the technical definition of a chickenhawk: they never served, but are chomping at the bit to send others to die.

I could be wrong about Rudy.

4. If Rudy goes to work for BushCo
He'd damned well better be ready to do their dirty work.

6. Not gonna happen.
As I posted in another thread, Rudy Giuliani will never play second fiddle to Boy George or anyone else. I'd be more worried about him picking someone like Clarence Thomas, but the neocons won't dump Cheney. After all, he's the puppetmaster!

10. I agree-as long as Cheney is alive, he's on the ticket
The religious right and the neocons will never trust Bush if he puts Rudy on the ticket and the GOP fears losing the votes.
