More anecdotal evidence of Bu$h's "big problem." Bankers.
Mrs. D is doing a consulting project for a big national bank. She has been in Katherine Harris-country for a couple of days with said bankers. Mrs. DemoTex just reported to me that everyone in the meeting - every single soul - falls in a continuum from fed-up with Bu$h to loathes Bu$h. She said the meeting is dominated by political talk. Folks, that is unprecedented in corporate-banking America. You don't talk politics at work (unless it is to toe-the-company line) and you damn sure don't talk politics in front of outside consultants. Mrs. D has a raw tongue now, from all the biting she is doing to keep from jumping in the fray.

Personally, I am on a roller-coaster between thinking Bu$h is toast and fearing that BBV will put him back in no-matter-what. There is no doubt in my mind, however, that Bu$h would lose an honest election.

1. Thanks
All those millions of bits of anecdotal evidence may add up to something. :)

3. Well, you will never see it on the evening news ...
Or in a Zogby poll, for that matter.

4. Ever see the billboards saying "Why Do the Heathen Rage?"?
Michael Moore has a good answer to "Why Do the Wingnuts Rage?" question in his latest book (Dude, Where's My Country?). Moore's theory is they rage and lie because they know that they are outnumbered and they know in any honest forum they will go down in flames (my interpretation of a Moore chapter). BBV is their only hope.

5. Thanks Tex
Love the anecdotal nuggets. It confirms my own observations as I bounce around the Land of Enchantment, and elsewhere in the lower 48. The people -- all of them -- are restless with the little emperor.

7. In Texas, outside of Highland Park and River Oaks, attitudes are changing.
But, stupidity still reigns supreme in angry white-man's land. But that is why they are scared. And that is why they lie and cling to the lies of Ru$h and O'Lie-ly.

6. My brother has already deserted Bush
He lives in a gated community, makes tons of money, voted for Bush last time.

He's already come off the reservation and has donated money to the Kerry campaign. Hates Bush with a big hate.

Lot's of anecdotal evidence starts to add up, IMO.

And the beltway pundits will sail blissfully on, completely unaware of what's happening.

I don't know if any of you listend to NPR's coverage after the primary last night, but Robert Siegel interviewed Andrew Kohut who remarked on the large percentage of voters who described themselves as "very angry" at the direction of the country and noted the percentage was higher than he's ever seen it. So Siegel was completely mystified, and then spent the evening asking sceptically if his "experts" thought this "two Americas" business wouldn't doom the Democrats.

Fool.

8. When the "gated" communities turn on Bu$h ...
... it is all over. Totally. All that are left are the ultra-rich bastions like Highland Park and River Oaks, and the other ultra-rich fairylands of America. And the Fundies, relatively few that they are.

9. Dayum...
... if your bro is donating to Kerry I need to get off his case!

Seriously, the only known-to-me anecdotal talk is the same. Old landlords who have voted Rep all their life who will not vote for Bush* again.

One wonders where Zogby et al find those 50% ers.

10. Push-polling? Bad Q's? I don't know.
However, Shakespeare and the Gospel Luke said it best: "The devil can cite scripture for his own purpose."

Eh?
