Haven't seen too many "Bush/Cheney" bumper stickers lately
Of course, this IS northeast Ohio (work in Cleveland, drive I-77 every day).

I haven't noticed too many "Bush/Cheney" (or "Bush/" fill-in-the-blank) bumperstickers on my drives. Even most of the "patriotic" showings are strangely (sarcasm) lacking the support of this resident.

Sherrod Brown recently hosted a group of veterans to discuss the options of keeping the Brecksville Ohio branch of the VA hospital open. It was about 250-1, maybe 250-2 or 250-3 anti Bush. Good mix of conflicts represented - WWII, Korea, Vietnam. All pissed off at the boy prince.

1. I have, in Washington, DC and beyond the beltway.
They come in many forms. Some merely say "W04."

25. In the Washington DC area you have people with
DC, Virginia, and Maryland plates. I would not expect to see very many Bush stickers on Maryland plates in DC.

29. Believe it or not
I saw 3 today on my way to work, and they were all on cars with MD plates. This isn't out in the sticks either. I drive about 20 miles on the Beltway from MD to Northern VA. One of the vehicles also had a sticker that said "April 1- National Atheists Day" as well as the mandatory, extra large, American flag door stickers.

Most of the Dem stickers I see are on VA cars, believe it or not. Driving into Alexandria or Arlington gives you the impression that Dean and Clark have opened car dealerships in town because their stickers are on so many cars!

over the Christmas/New Years holiday and I came across a car with the words "Pray for President Bush" painted in faint soap across his rear windshield. I was really tempted to flip him off. :spank:

8. I live in southern Ohio......
and I saw one about a couple of months ago....pretty much covered over by another bumpersticker about hunters. I thought that was odd...why didn't they just clean the bu$h/cheney bumpersticker off THEN put their hunter one on? It's like they were letting everyone know they are FORMER supporters of the bu$h nazi regime.Things are not looking good for the little bu$h kid....I've been reading on pr0-bu$h sites and even THEY are angry with what bu$h is doing. I feel a lot better today about the election than I did a couple of months ago.Our soldiers are dying everyday in Iraq....how much longer are the American people going to keep accepting this? :nuke: Bu$h

Lots of the poor variety of Republican up here in the snow belt, the kind with the rusted-out pickups with NRA stickers in the back windows. My county went 65-35 for Bush in 2K. Probably not this time.

I do see plenty of them...On STOP signs. It is really quite nice. One on my neighbors hung a huge flag from their house before the war started that said "These colors don't run...The World" I loved it! These are really old moneys folks.

18. I haven't for about a year
the last one I saw was on a grandpa buick, that granny was driving, it was at the grocery store parked in the handi with a stubbed toe sticker, I gave her the dirtiest look I could muster when I staggered past the old bitch.

The saddest thing I've seen though, and I've only seen it once was an old eighty something chevy, with flags, moron stickers, religious stickers, a real right wing waggon with a handi plate.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion that just went a little far for my tastes, said fuck you in capital letters, if my wife hadn't been along therre might have been a cripple fight on main street.

23. Anyone but Bush 2004
Has appeared here and there in NJ.
Dean about the same, with a few Clarks sporatically.

I got a bunch of the anyone but Bush, but then had second thoughts about putting them on my car. Although I generally believe in the message, I hesitate to think what it means to the average non-thinking person.

Is it too negative in general?....
The last thing I want to do is drive down the highway and solicit Bush supporters.

It's stuff like this and Kerry's "bring it on" type of attitude that worries me in the final analysis of taking on Bush.

I think the greatest successes so far have been on the positive side.

Being from Kansas you'd think I would have remember who our "favorite son" picked as his VP running mate. I didn't until I saw that sticker, and it brought back the big ole ass whoopin Dole got. Dole's probably pissed because Diebold wasn't rigging elections back then.

Bob Dole VS Bill Clinton--awww,the good ole' days...

28. I've seen one here in West L.A.
Everything else is "War is Not the Answer" or "Peace is Patriotic" or "Dean for America" or "Clark 04" or "Kucinich" or "Peace - Back by Popular Demand" and several pro-choice bumper stickers. Several peace signs, too. But only one bush/cheney 04 one so far. Even saw one that said "Practice Compassionate Impeachment"! We're kinda liberal here in Henry Waxman territory.

32. Very many in Chicago burbs...
Edited on Thu Jan-29-04 09:57 PM by tritsofme
You'd be quite surprised how conservative many of the suburbs around here are, in this supposedly liberal state. I'm just starting to see the lawn signs go up.

I grew up in a town no more than 30 miles away from Chicago, that prides itself on being the most conservative city in the most conservative county north of the Mason/Dixon line. And this summer when I was in the downtown section, I saw a big banner on the train station that said "W 2004"

Early campaigning by the Reps would be wasted. They are waiting until about convention time to start the campaigning.

34. hello fellow clevelander,
however, i'm currently living in new mexico... (:puke:)
and there's lots and lots of them out here. there's actually a pickup truck (go figure) that parks in the student union parking lot all the time, and the WHOLE back end is covered with hunting/nra/pro life/my god has a bigger d**k than your god type stickers. makes me want to smash into it... but i need my ride.

on the other hand, there's some chick with a little purple car that parks in the same lot, and she's got a bunch of really funny ones, like "jesus saves sinners and redeems them for cash and valuable prizes" and "my goddess gave birth to your god." takes all types, huh?

oh but then on the freeway the other day, there was some asshole in a huuuge pickup truck with american flags on it and one of those calvin peeing things in the back window, and it was peeing on the word "iraq," and he had something on there about his right to be a gun-toting liberal hater... etc, etc, i just wanted to drag him out of his truck and ask him if he loves his gas-guzzling truck and hates iraq so much, then why the hell wasn't he in iraq fighting and dying with our servicemen (and women)!!!

but unfortunately we were going 85 mph and he looked like he smelled bad anyway...
