How about Jeb as Cheney's replacement on the ticket
I think they want to run him in '08 anyway so why not give him a head start? Cheney is starting to become a liability and Haliburton wants him back. Rudy has too much baggage and Republicans are still too hung up on race to go for either Condi or Colin. I think their secret strategy is to bring out Jeb and put him on the ticket.

2. seems unlikely...
even people who like Bush will be uncomfortable with the appearance of a dynasty such as that...I think Jeb can't/won't run in 2008 no matter what...

I also think they'd put Rice or Powell on the ticket if it would help them win

4. That's just wrong!
280 Million people in this country and we might have back to back Presidents from one family - it should be outlawed. (And to be fair, I really don't even like the idea of a Husband, then Wife presidency combo - sorry Hillary!)

5. "That's just wrong!":
That gave me a real chuckle. Of course it's wrong that is why they will probably do it.

6. If Jeb is the VP candidate...
How is he going to control Florida in the election?
Granted, they could set up the scheme ahead of time, but you need the governor in the bag to clinch the deal...

...I don't think he can. Ever since the Kennedy brothers, I don't think it's possible , but somebody who knows the law better please cite.

10. Getting awful late...
to replace Cheney.

They'd have to fake a health crisis or something. Otherwise, there ought to be a period of preparation, so the replacement doesn't become a big story.

11. I like it
It would get Jeb out of Florida, they will lose in November, and we'll get rid of them in one fell swoop.

12. Jeb's coming, I don't doubt it, in 2008.
They're saving the "liberation" of Cuba for him. But I think two Bushes on one ticket is even too much for many Republicans to handle.

My money's still on Condi, though I think Rudy would be a devilishly clever choice. The guy's a walking, talking 9/11, which is all, perversely, Bush has going for him.

16. Frist is already exploring a run
Senate Majority Leader has already started exploring a run at the White House in 2008. I'm guessing it will be him or Jeb.

Liberalpress is right, they passed a law after the Kennedy bros, you can't have family members in the Cabinet, and that includes the VP.

23. Any VP for * would have to be acting president from Day 1
It's obvious that * does not have the intellect or knowledge to be president. Anyone chosen would have to know all the politics and ins and outs of government – to in effect, be president. Jeb is not that person. Condi is inept in the job she has, and is not politically adept. McCain could do it, but there a lot of bad blood there. Rudy was just a mayor and would outshine * in personality, which wouldn't go over very well, plus he's pro-choice. It wouldn't be easy to replace Uncle Dickie at this juncture. He knows too much.

24. This would NEVER work--you know why?
Just imagine, not one, but TWO mentions of the word "Bush" on the ticket. Even some freepers (the semi-rational ones) wouldn't be able to handle this.

Bush-Bush = 2x the outrage. 2x the anger. 2x the anti-Bush people coming out to vote these monsters out.
