Ritter nailed it - bush...and Wolfie
man, he slammed 'em but good.

And, in CNN/Wolf poll, 70% want an independent commission to find out about the misuse of intelligence (not that CNN worded it that way).

21. OH MY GOD. I was on my feet, pumping the air, mouth agape.

I can't believe what he said. And how EXPERTLY he deflected all those stupid-ass "but wouldn't you say the Iraqi people are better off without Saddam?" party line pablum crap retorts. He used the "L" word - "... the president misled or lied to the American people."

And his parting shot: that Americans have to look ourselves in the mirror and really think hard about this, "and what are we gonna do about it?"

OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD! I'm stunned! That he even got on CNN is one thing. My husband said "well, he's not going to be invited onto Sean Hannity's show." I said "he better stay out of small planes!"

OH MY GOD! Straight OUTTA the ballpark!!!

on edit -

More: Another great rebuttal to the pansy-ass bush apologists - Ritter got into how even this misadministration said, early in 2001, Colin Powell and others - he specified Colin Powell - they even said Iraq posed no threat and had nothing. Then he said, "but something happened between 2001 and 2002 that changed that." Wolfie butted in - "that something was 9/11." Then Ritter shot back: "9/11 had NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. This was a policy failure," he declared, flat out. And then he named Condi, Rummy, and the pResident directly, for exploiting 9/11 to further a separate agenda. UNBELIEVABLE!! I was gasping!!! He said, flat out that the pResident misled or lied to the American people, and he said, MORE THAN ONCE, either two or three times, that this was something everybody in this country needs to sit back and think about, hard, and evaluate how our government manipulated this, how we were misled, "and what are we gonna do about it?" UNBELIEVABLE!! Wolfie must have been crapping in his pants. The talking points didn't work. This guy would NOT be tripped up. He was deliberate, forceful, credible, informed, and he didn't back down for an instant. He had this stuff all ready to go. he knew his material without hesitation. He did NOT equivocate at all, or pussyfoot around anything. He smacked 'em upside the head with it. NEVER have I seen such a straightforward, clear, concise, and unmuddled case laid out before in my life. Wolfie couldn't trip him up. I was on my feet.

And it started strong - where Ritter stated flat out that American, British, even Israeli intelligence had it, and concurred, and stated categorically that there was no threat. This was in answer to Wolfie's question supporting the CONJOBBERS' party line that the administration was give bad intelligence. Ritter said absolutely not. They were given all the intelligence, and all the intel from American, British, and even Israeli intelligence experts said there was no threat. That's when he went into how these people deceived us, and how "it wasn't an intelligence failure. It was a policy failure."

I swear to Dear God! OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD. The most jawdropping thing I've seen on television in months and months and months. He just nailed it. Hit it right out of the ballpark. OH MY GOD! BULL'S EYE! UNBELIEVABLE!! And YES, I'M SHOUTING!!! AWESOME! ABSOLUTELY SHATTERING!! EARTH-SHAKING!! ASTOUNDING!!! I wonder how many people were listening. He just absolutely, positively kicked butt. And never batted an eyelash. Wolfie couldn't lay a finger on him.

He just agreed with Howard Dean that the Iraqi people are worse off now and the American people are worse off also since the war began. That was one powerful interview. Hope they give him a good job in the new administration. He is definately a good man.

25. Scott Ritter: READ THIS!
The guy has a....reputation....He is looked at as a flake in Washington and in many homes as well. WHO IS SCOTT RITTER? Everyone here thinks this guy is so great....he is a LIAR. Ritter has tried to hide his past views, which he wrote of clearly in his book "ENDGAME.......We should know who we're climbing in bed with. Ritter is now endorsing Kucinich. Sounds to me like some of that pre-war booty that was spread around before the war by Saddam reached some fairly important people. Today in "Wolf Blitzer" he sounded like an apologist for Saddam Hussein saying that he didn't believe the Iraqi people were better off without Saddam. He's no friend.

In his book, "ENDGAME":

"On April 18, 1991, Iraq submitted its declaration to the United Nations, initiating the process of sham and deception that would never cease. From the outset he decided to outwit the disarmament provisions of the Security Council resolution. Broad guidelines were established from the start. Iraq would not declare any aspect of its nuclear weapons program, nor would it admit to any violation of the nonproliferation treaty. It would not declare any aspect of its biological weapons program. Iraq's most advanced chemical weapon, VX, was to be totally hidden from the inspection teams."

MORE RITTER:

"The first step in any military confrontation intended to remove Saddam from power and transform Iraq into an international law-abiding nation is to convince the American people that this is a morally just fight. Saddam has provided the world with a massive body of damning evidence from which to assemble such a case, some of which I've discussed in this book. There is certainly moral justification to take action to overthrow Saddam."

"In the end, the hard reality always surfaces: to remove Saddam, we must employ the military forces of the United States. The time to solve this problem is now, when the cost in terms of lives and resources will be far less than it would be in the future. However, it is very difficult to mobilize support for war based upon a potential threat. It is easier to hope that containment through a combination of economic sanctions and limited military action will suffice. But the framework of containment is collapsing, and Iraq is on the verge of breaking out. And when it does--perhaps three to five years down the road--the world will face a serious confrontation. The only way to prevent Saddam from igniting conflict is to overthrow him through military action, that is what we must do."

{emphasis mine}

Ritter hurts us. He and Bush are BOTH liars.

The Iraqi people are not better off without Saddam. This doesn't make Bush look good does it? Scott Ritter told Bush the truth about the WMDs. Bush tried to discredit him with a witch hunt. You can't change the facts just because you don't like him.

38. 13 years ago, Economic justice
nothing like dusting off a moldy old chestnut for today's issues.

Using that approach, let's consider the words of our appointtee in chief -- from the more recent past -- on how to handle global terrorism:

"People say, how can I help on this war against terror? How can I fight evil? You can do so by mentoring a child; by going into a shut-in's house and say I love you."
- George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Sept. 19, 2002

Truly inspired !
