13. Yes he can!
But let's not waste him in 2008.

We could run Lieberman and beat Jeb Bush. :-P

16. He should have run this time
Edited on Sat Jan-31-04 12:45 PM by Dob Bole
Oh well. He maintains that he retired from politics in 1980 and he's not going back into it. Then again, he gets so much more accomplished than he would if he were in office.

2. I first thought that headline was from the Onion...
... when I saw the story posted on another forum, but then I saw it on CNN. Those Georgians are criminally stupid (not all of them, just these particular Georgians). ;)

3. The same ones that want to fly that flag of Treason
While it certainly isn't true that all Republicans are ignorant it is true that most ignorant people are Republican.

4. So true
It was only a few months ago that Georgia Republicans were having a fit about the Confederate flag (they wanted to include it on the state flag), and now they're attacking science because it conflicts with their narrow sectarian beliefs.

It's nice to see progressive Christians like President Carter finally standing up to the fundies.

11. Next to Plains, in Americus
I work and go to school here. President Carter is not an uncommon sight to us. I occasionally go to his church.

15. Not likely this time...
Carter carried Georgia twice, and Clinton won it, but the Georgia Democratic Party is not in a position to really help the nominee right now. Case in point- our highest ranking official is Zell Miller.
