When, oh when will the Democrats learn?????
Edited on Sat Jan-31-04 06:39 PM by 9215
When, oh When will the Democratic candidates say what

needs to be said??

This goddamn primary shit is like a boxing match with one guy, the Democrat, having both of his hands tied behind his back.

Just look at it. Dean is virtually destroyed by the fascist run media for his "not ready for prime" time energy level after the Iowa races and Kerry is now doing the talk shows while Bush is given absofuckinglutley NO attention whatsoever.

Think about it: Dean destroyed overnight for the Press's emphasis on his loud speech and Bush ignored about the AWOL/Drug issue. Think about it.

What to do. The first thing is that Kerry should demand, and demand every goddamn time that, absent or not, equal time be to cover Bush's past. Then lay out parts of the incredibly long list of shit that Bush has done. If he doesn't do this he should just give it up.
EVERY TIME!!!

Otherwise Kerry will be defending himself against
somebody who isn't even in the ring and has his media imps throwing the punches. It is a pathetically hopeless situation to have yourself under scrutiny and every single goddamn thing about your opponent ignored.

I don't know if there is a way of leveling the playing field, maybe there isn't, but if there isn't then I think it as as hopeless as farting in the wind to stop a hurricane.

I'm not deluding myself any longer.

FRAME THE DEBATE!!
FRAME THE FORUM OF THE DEBATE!!
FRAME THE WHOLE DAMN THING!!

Kerry needs to refuse to discuss a goddamn thing until the rules of engagement are made fair. When he is on a show he should tell the host point blank, or preferably in prior agreement, what his demands are or refuse to discuss the issues. HE MUST FRAME THE DISCUSSION. By that I mean demanding that the show allot equal time to covering Bush's past as to his and pull no punches. Then he needs get some of the enormous amount of dirt on Bush and exposing it. He'd need an earthmover to get it all off of DU. If he cannot get his terms then let the headlines read:

" Kerry refuses to play in a rigged game"

DO NOT ENTER ANY ARENA UNLESS YOU ARE SURE IT WILL BE GOOD FOR YOUR CAMPAIGN!

This is why I hate politics and am forever sick and tired of the way the Democrats just plough along like the game is fair when it is about as one sided as it can be.

Why lie to yourself about this *^^*( stinks!

1. I advocated TWO YEARS AGO...
Edited on Sat Jan-31-04 06:20 PM by SoCalDem
That the democrats REFUSE to go on ANY "talking head" shows .. They are only invited to any of them for the purpose of ambush..

The media "knows" to invite them so they cand "appear" to be fair and balanced </hah>

All the Dems should have called a news conference to announce that they would no longer "play the game", and that America's problems were far too serious to be trivialized by the media in 10 second soundbytes and 4 minute screaming matches..

THAT WOULD HAVE MADE NEWS AND IT WOULD HAVE FRAMED THE ARGUMENT..
But, did they listen??? Noooooooo

They keep kow-towing and tucking their tails between their legs and sit there while lightweights like Wolfie, & Judy & Sean & Tweety and all the other wannabees distort and misquote them over and over and over..

They did it to themselves..

4. Chris Matthews on MSNBC.
Another "Democrat" who has nothing but nice things to say about Bush and other pukes and nothing good about Clinton.

5. I'm damn glad to see

somebody else sees this.

You know Cong. Henry Gonzalez of Texas kept his campaign activity to a minimum and won hands down 4 or maybe 5 terms. He was a stickler for

PUTTING THINGS IN WRITING

so that there was a record of everything, everything.

He kicked ass throughout his career and had Poppy the prick shaking in his cowboy boots . Poppy told a reporter after he lost in 92' that he was very afraid of being impeached. It was Gonzalez who drew up the articles of impeachment. Gonzalez took on the machine singlehandedly and won because he had a plan, he had the facts and he KNEW how the system worked.

I do not know what happens to these politicians. Dean had the fire in him, but Kerry just does not look like he understands what this game is about. Could he be that unaware??

Is he just a trumped up bureaucrat who can't see what the hell is going on?

Why go on the air unless it works in your favor? Doesn't Kerry and the rest of them see where this process is heading??

These campaigns need a serious dose of brainpower from people who know what is going on or they might as well give it up.

PS. Anybody who is interested in hiring a consultant for their campaign send me a p-mail.

6. The media is one big joke
Their claim of being "fair and balanced" makes me want to puke. Their job is to REPORT the news, not editorialize or take sides, but they seemed to have forgotten that little fact a long time ago. How sad.

Diane Sawyer was giggling the whole time they were showing the Dean thing, for example. (Not that I am a big fan of Dean, but that's not the point.) Was that professional even at the basic level? Not! :grr:

2. Write to the Media
Let your self be heard. Everyone on this board should start e-mailing. You can get the e-mail address for every TV network and newspaper in the country. Lets do it!! I e-mail NBC every three days about something I don't like. Like tim russet

7. I don't mean to be rude but this is a waste of time
We don't need to write to the media. They don't give a damn. They are not interested in fairness, they cannot be motivated in that regard all they care about is ratings. You are asking the fox to guard the henhouse.

IMHO. What needs to happen is these campaigns need to set the terms with the Media. If they cannot set terms that are advantageous to their campaign then DO NOTHING!Or, go to a forum that will work in your favor.

They need to seek out people who know what is going on and use them. They need to start building up an attack plan that they use every SECOND on the campaign. Howard Dean was beginning to take the fight to Bush, but he failed to understand how the media, a media as I have said controlled by the opposition would go after him.

I don't think Kerry understands the importance of kicking ass often and hard.

But primarily I think there is this vast ignorance on the part of these career politicians as to just how this game is played and I find that incredibly odd given the amount of coverage places like DU and other sites have given the the nefariousness of Corporate Media machinations. There seems to be a mental disconnect between thought and action, unless, of course these democrat politicos are just out to lunch altogether.

8. The Repubes learned this from Ronnie and Newt
Edited on Sat Jan-31-04 07:11 PM by SoCalDem
They only go where they will be welcomed with open and loving arms.

How often do you see Hastert or Delay, or Lott, or any of the others showing up where they will get hard questions?? (well to be fair, there are few out there who even ASK hard questions)..but.. they show up on Fox, or Hannity, or O'Really, or GGLiddy, or Limbaugh or ChiquitaBlanquita, or a zillion others..

They know their audience and the know the media to choose..

It's about the message... If your message is "...but...but... let me explain...but but..okay "... then keep doing what you're doing..

The press is NOT your friend...

Make them come to YOU, because they want to hear what you have to say.. Do it on YOUR terms..

Groveling is not pretty...

9. But really, here is what the problem is
Why in the hell aren't the Democratic candidates talking about the Bush family link to the Bin Laden's?

Why do they not bring this up whenever and whereever the opportunity arises and INSIST on making this the topic, and insist on getting answers. Then lay out the material and stay focused on this topic until you have won your point. If the bozo conducting the forum strays off onto your wife's hairdresser shit, guide him/her gently but forcefully back to THE subject.

When you are in a battle you don't win by being nice. You win by seizing the initiative and never letting go of it. If you cannot outmaneuver a crop of prime-time propoganda talking zipperheads then hang it up.

SET THE AGENDA!
