New Language Alert! We should call Bush a "Regressive".
Conservative does not describe Bush and Cheney cabal in any way.

We are Progressives -- they are Regressives. Just like sales tax being a "regressive tax" and income tax is a progressive tax.

Use these terms instead of liberal and conservative and watch the sparks fly!

1. Excellent!
"Just plain mean" doesn't seem to resonate.

9. Naming the Dragon: "Regressive"
We must use Jungian psychology to understand what archetypal story is being played out in this War of Words. And if we do this, we come upon the profound insight that will allow us to "name the dragon" and thus win against it. The dragon's name is "Regressive" not "Conservative". Doing this does many things to change the dynamics in the war of words. By being confronted with the concept of "Regressive", we accurately describe how the conservative party has been taken over by these malevolent, deceitful forces--veiling themselves in the cloak of "conservative", patriotism, morality, and the "right wing"--also meaning "right" not "wrong"--while being in reality quite the contrary. We also must dispense with the right-left paradigm. It doesn’t describe the reality anymore. We all know that either-or thinking is flawed. It blinds us to the "big picture" to the whole truth. More important it polarizes us into two opposing camps.... and as long as we are polarized to extremes, we can be manipulated, tricked, deceived and plundered. By naming our community our "knight" with its true name, we release its power to recognize itself, to properly envision the future, to plan, to coalesce and to rise up and fight against the dragon.

12. Counteracting newspeak
For such a long time, I have been studying the speech used by the pundits. I believe that we need to have a complete analysis of this, a complete understanding of what is being used against us, because the discovery of "regressive vs. progressive" and the fallacy--at least the infeasibility--of the right-left paradigm, is just the beginning. Everyday the media mesmerizes the public and indoctrinates them with the cult's dogma. We have to cut through the indoctrination with new ways to say the truth to describe the truth. If the truth cannot be described, it cannot be understood, it cannot be communicated and it cannot be acted upon.

4. Not just Regressive...
...but Radically Regressive

How Radical? The Regressives want to return to the times when Monarchies ruled. Democracy is, and always has been, their only real enemy. Democracy forces into the open the Regressive's secret hopes of worldwide serfdom and slavery.

7. Very neat and symmetrical
After all, progressive means wanting to go forward, conservative means wanting to remain the same. What bushsucks* wants is to back up a bit, i.e. regressive.

11. I still prefer reactionary
It brings out the idea of non-thinking.

regressive is a little more self-explanatory though. We can probably use them both.

15. I like it

I have been using it off and on in conversation for awhile. I have had conservatives get a puzzled look on their faces when I used the term. I just reply "regressive, you know, the opposite of progressive."

Leaves them stammering and at a loss for words.
