Let me say that I would hope that an international tribunal is opened sometime to look into the Iraq invasion and those responsible for it's undertaking should be prosecuted. That out of the way, there's plenty to investigate in this regime and they've stonewalled and hidden for 3 years now. It's about time to start seeing where our tax dollars are going and what these "public servants" are doing on our dime.
Yes, a criminal or congressional investigation will take months and years, but as you see with the 9/11 Commission, the preliminary finding and reports have been fed to the media who then spin it. For the past 3 years, the "mainstream" media gave this regime a pass or the "benefit of the doubt" and let them have the first say on all scandals. It looks like that's coming to an end.
No matter how one feels about the political bend of the media, it's main motivation is ratings...and nothing brings those in better than a close political race and lots of scandal and controversy. The "gore-ing" of Dean is a classic example...a media creation built, one destroyed. Bunnypant's time is long overdue.
All these investigation plant seeds in people's minds. The GOOP used this endlessly on Clinton...not just the ICs on his and Hillary's tail, but the other worthless investigations bent on tainting the entire administration as corrupt. The investigations never held water, but the impression made in the media still sticks.
It'd be nice to see the tables turned...be it lies about WMD, 9/11, the Iraq invasion, corporate scandals and so on, this regime is bootie deep in the poop and it's time it starts to come out...and there are Pulitzer Prizes and fame for some young journalist or a veteran with guts to step forward now.
