Basedon info from
Cryptome.com, I've noticed a strange pattern to US fatalities.
Apparently Monday is the deadliest day for US personnel, accounting for over one-fourth of our losses. Only 3.7 percent have died on Saturdays. The second lowest mortality day is Sunday, with 11% of the total losses. That Sunday number is at least well within the norm for a single standard variation (all things being equal, there should be about 14% of the week's deaths happening on each day of the week).
I'm not suggesting that the insurgents are taking the weekends off or anything. But with this big a discrepancy, you have to wonder what the causes are. What are our guys doing different on Saturday? What are they doing wrong on Mondays?
The raw numbers are these:
Sun (60)
Mon (130)
Tue (99)
Wed (76)
Thu (69)
Fri. (87)
Sat (20)
