Interesting pattern in the deaths of US military in Iraq
Basedon info from Cryptome.com, I've noticed a strange pattern to US fatalities.

Apparently Monday is the deadliest day for US personnel, accounting for over one-fourth of our losses. Only 3.7 percent have died on Saturdays. The second lowest mortality day is Sunday, with 11% of the total losses. That Sunday number is at least well within the norm for a single standard variation (all things being equal, there should be about 14% of the week's deaths happening on each day of the week).

I'm not suggesting that the insurgents are taking the weekends off or anything. But with this big a discrepancy, you have to wonder what the causes are. What are our guys doing different on Saturday? What are they doing wrong on Mondays?

The raw numbers are these:
Sun (60)
Mon (130)
Tue (99)
Wed (76)
Thu (69)
Fri. (87)
Sat (20)

1. I've Heard That Planning Is Done at Mosques
where Muslim men can meet without suspicion. That would be on Friday. Allow a couple of days' lead time -- maybe take the Western weekend into account -- and Monday is the start of the insurgent work week.
