1. Most likely the same thing he parrots every day on Whore TV
Rush is a victim,Rush is being singled out,Rush is being treated differently than others.Rush this,Rush that. Everything but the truth about lardass being hooked and a damn hyprocrite.

Yeah,he is being treated differently,he HASN'T been arrested.

8. Let's have equal treatment
Rush should have a court-appointed, overworked public defender instead of banks of high priced lawyers. Then he could experience the War on Drugs like everybody else caught with the quantities of drugs he had. Maybe he will get really unlucky and his public defender will sleep through the hearings or show up drunk like some of the ones assigned to capital murder cases in Texas.

2. My client has private medical needs and this case has been hijacked ...
.... by politically motivated enemies." I bet he'll say something like that.

And he prolly has a point. But since when is life fair or drug prosecutions have been about 'justice'? It scapegoating, moralism, and the Puritanical legacy running amok.

I'm proud to support Rush and hope he gets off. I also hate everything Rush believes in and think drugs like Oxycontin totally suck. But its Rush's problem, not some prosecutor who wants to make a name for himself or prove something with a high profile case.

That statement puts you at complete odds with me. I wish for Rush exactly what he has been wishing for drug addicts for a decade now. No more no less. He is the one that has politicized our national Drug Problem. He and he alone, knowingly and willfully broke our state and national drug laws and now wants "special treatment" Now he wants to be admitted into a drug rehab after just leaving one saying to the world he was cured and now wants to go back into one for what reason? He has told the world he was cured after attending a drug rehab for a month. Now he wants to go into one solely for the purpose of escaping punishment for a crime (felony) that he openly admitted to committing. I suggest he does what he tells all liberals to do and that is to take responsibility for his actions.

7. Its important to stand up against targeted prosecutions...
...based on political beliefs.

Drug rehab should be the legitimate alternative punishment for drug offenses. I am not asking for Rush to be given any special treatment. All Americans need to have equal treatment before the law. Doesn't the 14th amendment of the constitution guarantee that? Isn't it just plain fair? Having bias against Rush in the prosecution of his case based on his political beliefs violates his constitutional rights, IMO.

I know these drugs are felonies and he is guilty of felonious behavior. But in almost every state every day, drug addicts are getting out of prison time with rehab time, and that's a good thing. What I don't like to see is celebrities, especially political people, being singled out for extraordinary prosecutions in what looks like a witch hunt.

Going to a court supervised rehab program is no cake walk. Apparently he's still doing drugs. How can anyone believe him now? The credibility of the Rights' best spokesman is totally lost. That is the best punishment for Rush of all. Not to mention going deaf, totally because of his own drug abuse. So I say the addiction itself, the loss of prestige, and a real rehab, where he has to quit is proportional punishment enough. But that is for a judge to decide.

Drug addicts require compassion. The Drug War is a failure and nearly all incarcerated non-violent drug offenders should be given the alternative of rehab. Anyway its just my hope. Its the law in some states.

I know how the real world works; they'll prolly nail him. I just think that sucks. The real world sucks.

5. Fry Rush
After all, he is supporting Al Qaeda isn't he? I mean that's what the right wingers told us right? That drug users are helping fund Al Qaeda? Why isn't Rush living in one of the dog kennels in Guantanamo with the rest of the captured Al Qaeda operatives?

9. Well...
I will support anyone addicted to any substance trying to get off that addiction; this includes Limbaugh. I have stated this before, and I would be a hypocrite if I didn't stick by my word.

HOWEVER: While I understand the problems with addictions, I CANNOT support Limbaugh in his attempt to avoid precisely what he has advocated for a decade for abusers of substances, and that is prosecution under the current laws.

We are talking about a HUGE amount of substance purchasing, bordering on trafficking charges. I don't really care if he was "Dr. Shopping". NO physician is going to prescribe thousands of narcotic analgesics.
There is a public airing of his purchasing massive amounts of narcotics with cash in a cigar box. There is nothing legal in that, and he should be held accountable, just as anyone else in this country would be held accountable. If it were not for his notoriety, (an asset in this case), he would be rotting in a cell somewhere with a court appointed atty, that would be begging for a plea bargain.

BTW: Limbaugh has not returned to sunny FL; he is running his show from NYC, freezing his butt off. He is not going back to FL unless he is extradited. The "Lovely Marta" has the house to herself, and is probably glad of it.

10. Rush is a huge addict
There is no way he could possibly get off drugs without jail or rehab. Maybe jail is the solution here; it would be amazingly cruel to make him go cold turkey there. I guess I feel so much compassion for addicts, perhaps it has blinded me. I can't really argue with anything you wrote Rasputin.

I don't like these public trials of celebrities, I resent having newstime being taken up with Jacksons pedophilia, or Janets tit or Rush's personal demons. Its so distracting from real problems. Its like the Roman Arena and periodically we like to through someone to the lions.

11. I certainly agree that 'news' leaves a lot to be desired...
it is "trial by media".

As for Limbaugh, it is the mere fact that he spent a lot of air time convicting others for what he was guilty of himself. It is not the addiction, it is the blatant hypocrisy that takes away my empathy for the man.

I was a Medical Plt Sgt in the Army. I had my own demons to deal with, and did so. It wasn't easy, but it is doable; this is why I am 100% for rehab over incarceration. But, rehab does not take away the personal responsibility of ones actions in condemning others for what one is doing at the time.

CD, please understand it is not the addiction I have a problem with, it is the hypocrisy. Personally, I hope he overcomes his personal demons, just so long as he doesn't toss 'em at others.
