"On Wednesday, the governor outlined the budget cuts that vote will bring. In a Capitol news conference the morning after voters overturned the Legislature’s $1.2 billion tax package, Gov. Ted Kulongoski said he wants to spare state crime labs and some health-care benefits from the automatic cuts triggered by Tuesday’s election. But he said major cuts will stand to public schools, colleges, health coverage for 50,000 low-income adults and other programs.
