Unbelievable quote from Boeing CEO

Subj: Unbelievable quote from Boeing CEO

This quote from the CEO of Boeing in an article about the company's windfall profit increase resulting from Bush defense spending. Did he mean to say out loud that the purpose of the US DoD is to feed his profits?

"Defense has done exactly what it's supposed to - and that is keep the earnings mill going," Boeing chief executive Harry Stonecipher said

Full article from Bloomberg is at this link.

4. They don't have to hide it anymore
I think it may have been last spring, maybe early summer, but I happened to be watching a press conference on C-SPAN involving the AEI. They had various people there on the panel, one was Perle, and a few other high up business types. One was from Northrup Grumman. I believe he was the CEO, or VP, but somebody important. He said basically the same thing. I don't remember the exact quote, nor do I have a link, but he said pretty much that they need to make more weapons, etc, etc, etc, because it makes them money.

16. Exactly. They are no longer bound by shame or decency
Totalitarianism LITERALLY means never having to say you're sorry, provided you are an Imperial Family member, stooge, or friend.

7. Defense WITHIN Boeing

I would he assume he is referring to Boeing's Defense department/section/group whatever keeping Boeing afloat as their commercial business disappeared for quite some time following the 9/11 shutdown and subsequent fear of flying by so many consumers. I rather doubt he was referring to the US Department of Defense directly.

11. I heard Micheal Medved
the reichboy say that it doesn't matter that no weapons have been found, the results are justified because we are now more powerful as a nation for invading Iraq. The argument is: whatever makes us more powerful should be done.

17. I guess if killing all liberals and moderates
would make us a stronger nation, we should do it, eh?

Of course, that philospohy already has a home just beneath the surface of the mouthings of the Party-Loyal Bushevik Sub-Media.

12. how about this guy, I wonder if he did the old arm thing when he
said sweet. of course if you call them on this they will have out their little lapel usa flag, and a tiny tear in the corner of their eye.

``It looks like the Northrop Grumman programs are right in the sweet spot,'' Chief Executive Officer Ronald Sugar said in an interview Thursday. ``All of our major program areas, we believe, are going to be well supported and well funded.''

13. man this article is just full of quotes.
maybe we are not suppose to see this or something, but there are a lot of interesting tidbits in this baby.

``They'll spend like crazy because it's an election year, and maybe next year they'll get religion,'' Anderson said.

``We're going to try to do what's pretty close to a freeze on non-defense spending,'' said Senate Budget Committee Chairman Don Nickles, a Republican from Oklahoma.

``Bush's plan for cutting spending doesn't give the whole picture, since so many other parts of the government will continue to grow,'' Anderson said. ``We're already up to Cold War levels on defense.''

Bush is statistically tied in a contest with John Kerry, the senator from Massachusetts who is the leading presidential among Democrats, according to polls. His approval rating fell to 47 percent in January from 58 percent in December, and Kerry got 46 percent, according to a poll taken Jan. 27-29 by American Research Group. The survey of 768 registered voters has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.

14. Report from Paranormal investigators

Paranormal investigators reported an amazing find today. While observing an unrelated phenomenon, investigators recorded startling evidence of paranormal activity.

From the nearby grave of President Dwight D Eisenhower, the following phrase was heard over and over.

"I TOLD YOU SO, I TOLD YOU SO, I TOLD YOU SO, I TOLD YOU SO."

"BEWARE OF THE MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX!!!!!"

"OH YEAH, AND THATS COMING FROM A FORMER REPUBLICAN!!!!!"
