Girl Suspended from School for Saying 'Hell'

PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - A second-grade girl from Pittsburgh was suspended this week from her public elementary school for saying the word "hell" to a boy in her class.

But 7-year-old Brandy McKenith says she was only warning the boy about the eternal comeuppance he could face for saying: "I swear to God."

"I said, 'You're going to go to hell for swearing to God,'" Brandy was quoted as saying in an article that appeared on the Web site of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review on Wednesday.

Does this sort of thing happen often in America? Or is it a recent phenomenon?

1. It's fairly recent

just goes along with banning teaching evolution in schools and an unhealthy obsession with Janet Jackson's breast.

2. Without doubt, schooling in America is getting to be a very

dicey adventure. I am raising my grandson so my attention is on education related things AGAIN..... I am really shocked at how much things have changed and what will and won't be tolerated in the public schools these days. I've had more than one shout out with teachers/superintendants so far.
I actually considered "home schooling"----->gawd forbid, did I say that? Yikes LOL
