Any Repercussions From The Families Of The Iraq War Dead...
Edited on Sat Feb-07-04 12:07 AM by WillyT
and injured with regards to the Kay Report\Intelligence Community Gaffes\Tenet's Speech??? (I'm talking about families of U.S. soldiers here.)

Just wondering what these parents are thinking and feeling these days. I'm sure some deal with their tragedies by supporting the President and consider their loved one's deaths an honorable sacrifice.

But I want to hear what the others are saying. Their sense of betrayal, outrage, mistrust, and rage at this administration would be really interesting (and painful) to see.

Is it too soon, or have you guys seen any recent articles reflecting these people's thoughts?

On edit: Spelling

1. Someone posted a letter
the other day from a dead 20-yr-old soldier's father asking Bush why his son had to die for what appeared to be Bush's adolescent need for vengeance. I was surprised the local newspaper had printed it. I'll see if I can find it, it was called something like "open letter to president (sic) Bush."

The news won't show it though, just the bare boob and Martha Stewart. :-(

4. Oh please, Willy
Please don't use "bare" and GWB in the same sentence. Someone started a thread earlier today about the possibility that Dick Cheney knocked up his wife to get out of serving in Nam. A girl can only take so much disgusting imagery in one day... x(

Howya doon? :hi:

7. I'm in tears. How sad to know that your child died for someone
else's vendetta.

For Seth and Richard M. Dvorin: get the asshole out of Washington, and our children out of Iraq.

9. I didn't get that at all.
What makes you say that? I'm just curious as to our widely different interpretations.

11. basically the last three lines
and the Respectfully yours bit, but perhaps that was just to get it published.

The letter is sad of course, but he seems resigned to having Bush as president, even if it did cost him his son.
