a new reason to despise Robert Novak
From Friday's Crossfire:

President Bush today named seven members of the commission to investigate prewar intelligence on Iraq. One of the co-chairs, former federal Judge Lawrence Silberman was outed by former right-wing journalist David Brock as a key supporter of the right wing witch-hunt of President Clinton's sex life, even though, as a federal judge, he really wasn't supposed to be involved in politics.

Another commissioner member, Senator John McCain, has already pronounced judgment saying -- quote -- "I don't think anyone intentionally misled the American people" -- unquote. Well, I do, Senator McCain. The president misled us. He said Iraq was an urgent threat, a growing threat. Dick Cheney said it was a mortal threat. And the Bush White House repeatedly called Iraq an imminent threat.

I'll tell you what. With guys like that, this commission's starting to look like the biggest whitewash since Tom Sawyer.

NOVAK: You know, Paul, what you want is an auto defay (ph), like the Spanish Inquisition.

(CROSSTALK)

(LAUGHTER)

BEGALA: Those were the days.

NOVAK: Yes.

You're not really interested in finding out what happened, because John McCain, I'm telling you straight that he is no patsy for George W. Bush. And let me tell you something about Larry Silberman. That is one of the most distinguished federal jurists in America. And I'm embarrassed to be sitting with you having slurring and having canards against him by a left-wing attack man like David Brock.

(CROSSTALK)

(BELL RINGING)

BEGALA: Do you deny that Silberman was supportive of that whole right-wing witch-hunt?

NOVAK: He -- certainly not. And neither was I.

1. when he made that last remark...
...he batted his eyes at the camera and curled his lip like a flea-bitten camel cartoon.

It was despicable. Why are these talking heads paid to lie?

2. I guess we need some direct evidence that Novak is lying in the above
I'm sure he is, but spell it out for us.

It's tiresome, isn't it, having to point out their hypocritical LIES day after day.

If only they would occasionally tell the truth, we could take a day off!

4. Well I was referring to Novak's "neither was I"

What is he talking about?

I don't remember his role in Watergate, and it never hurts to spell these things out for us.

I'm sketchy on the Silberman details. Tell me again. There's no harm in repetition!

Sometimes we assume everyone's been following the story the whole time. Many new friends have a lot of catching up to do.

Sometimes old friends have missed one story or another.

*edit: What was Novak's role in Watergate etc.?

13. Bush appointed WMD panel is unconstitutional
According to the Constitution, the Congress has power of oversight not the Executive branch.

This separation of powers is for a good reason. Our Executive Branch will be investigating itself. This is a conflict of interest. Bush has no business appointing a panel just to cover the investigation until after the election. We the tax payers paying for the delays and lies.

The President failed to respond to previous investigations by other panels, refused to answer citizen questions, provide documents and testimony, refused court orders, etc. They (Rice, Rumsfled, Cheney, etc.) disobeyed the law...that's the bottom line and reason for impeachment or being fired, etc.

The families of 9/11 have demanded answers to questions not even addressed by previous panels. The 9/11 investigations have been political and full of cover ups...and misrepresentations. The families of 9/11 told how and who they wanted to ask questions, investigate, etc.

When is this administration going to obey the Constitutional duties as written? Take the President to court for disobeying his Constitutional duties.

7. Novak also said something about replacing
Begala with zell miller, I guess traitors like to stick together. I sent CNN e-mail asking if he has the authority to do this, and if so, is that why he hasn't been fired for being a traitor and committing assault.

8. Why is this man still on Television?
Compromising National Security - related to Weapons of Mass Destruction- and the guy still has his smarmy tv gig? What rot. US corporate capitalism - where traitors... if they carry water for the right folks... are rewardly... and accountability is a disappeared word.

Funny how ratings are the Golden Goose until you start talking RW mouth pieces. Suddenly Networks,TV and Radio can abandon those "books" and keep a screaming RW on no matter how bad the ratings and how little the profit.

Good examples: Scarborough on TV,Neil Boortz on radio. Hell,Neil will even admit to a low ratings and few listeners. Yet there he is everyday preaching to his flock with no end in sight.

Lets see, isn't Mike Malloys last day in about two weeks??

10. Shouldn't this ass be in jail?
I email CNN once a week and ask why they keep traitorous felons on their payroll. CNN is supporting terrorism by having a traitor who outted a CIA WMD undercover agent on its payroll.

Why hasn't CNN been shut down. I thought you were either "for us or against us". CNN is clearly against us.

11. CNN against us?
Edited on Sat Feb-07-04 10:42 AM by mac2
Yes...I agree. And they are propabably getting our tax dollars to tell us lies. They are determining "policy".

Remember, there was a point where CNN was having financial problems? Well..no more with Herr Bush.
