Anybody notice that FOX is sinking along with Bush?
If people want real information they know they have to get it elsewhere.
Rush and FOX being dragged down by Bush's coattails.

2. Some repub friends have admitted this

Had a few conservative friends recently admit that they have always liked Fox but there is so much Kobe, Michael Jackson, etc and 'promo stuff' that now when they want 'real' news they watch the nightly broadcast news or read the paper to get their news.

Its amazing to hear that, but propaganda can only go so far, there is always a tipping point. Once they start talking like Baghdad Bob they lose it and even the halfway thinking people start to look elsewhere for info.

Serves them right, Fox lies all the time.

I always tell people to try checking the internet for news, there is tons of it.. Its always best to get your news from as many places as possible.. Then you can make up your own mind instead of one person telling you.

the only trouble is that people on the go don't always have time to look at the internet, so the radio & TV ends up to be their major source of news, because it's something that they can listen to while doing something else.

4. Rush with 30 million? Ha Hah!

That heroin junkies ratings are way down.

Besides, he is going to prison soon, so it doesn’t matter if you think its 500 million people.

And please provide a link stating O'Reilly ratings are going up and up.

11. Drudge and Superbowl ratings??

Are you a breast fan?

Your link here http://www.canoe.ca/TelevisionRatings/us.html

... Has nothing but sex ratings of the superbowl!

And your link to Drudge is useless, you made the statement so why don’t you go search the site yourself and come back when you have the goods to support your ridiculous claims.

As for Rush, again I repeat.. It doesn’t matter if its 500 million, that heroin junky is going to prison so it doesn’t matter.

Please report back when YOU search for the links to back up your claims.

Along with all other news since the war bump up.

Comparatively few watch any cable news:

"Note that in second quarter 2002, the evening news broadcasts on ABC, CBS and NBC delivered 18.7 total HH rating points; the five cable news networks delivered 1.424 total HH rating points."

Another site that I frequent and uses DC Script forums purges your name if you haven't posted in 90 days or more. That keeps a very accurate total of real users.

Martha may be a raging bitch, and I think that she deserves what she is getting. But Rush(Hypocrite)Limpballs needs to be in jail right now. That is what he has been preaching for 15+ years. But I guess that tough love only applies to liberals. Republicans can screw their kids and eal drugs next to schools and that's OK.

Btw, why isn't Ken Lay on trial yet? What about Jeffrey Skilling?

Could be a Drudge scoop there Strategist.

Why would you listen to a narcotics junkie that refuses to accept personal responsibility for his crimes? Of course, he's got a lot of money from the dittoheads that listen, so he'll probably avoid prison time.

Well, there's always Bill Bennett to turn too......when he's not dropping 6 million in slots or getting dominated in the whale suite.

True about Martha, her crime was not donating to the Republican Party.

34. Rush is losing because everyone is starting to see what an idiot he is...
Edited on Sat Feb-07-04 05:08 AM by scottxyz
...not to mention a hypocrite. Remember all those times he called for harsh sentencing for drug users. Remember all those times he said drug use was a "choice" - not an illness.

The very posting here by Strategist - rather shrill and off-topic if I might say - is Exhibit A of how the Right is starting to crumble. The Emperor never had any clothes - all he had was lots of money to pay off the station heads to force the talking heads shut up about the truth.

Rush doesn't need to take any more "recent blows". He himself delivered quite enough major blows to himself over and over through the years. He's not going to get a chance anymore to take any more blows. He's just going to blow away. The really smart people always knew he was a hypocrite and an ignoramus and a racist long ago. Now pretty much everybody knows - after his ridiculous, offensive, racist remarks as a sports anchor - and after all those years making fun of drug addicts WHEN HE HIMSELF WAS ONE. You don't have to be a genius to spot a hypocrite and a racist. Once Rush got on a big TV network, he was exposed to a bigger audience than his "dittohead" followers - and that was his doom, because reasonable people all noticed he was a racist fool. Once he was exposed as a drug addict, reasonable people all noticed what a hypocrite he had been for making fun of drug addicts all along.

But anyways - back to the topic at hand - Fox's and Bush's collapsing ratings - it was probably inevitable, if you believe that old maxim about how you can't fool all of the people all of the time. Fox was a short-lived phenomenon in a world with many sources of information. People who watch news are in the mood for information, not entertainment and lies. More and more people caught on to the fact that Fox is our most partisan and untruthful major news outlet. And now that we are noticing how partisan and untruthful our major news outlets can be, we're starting to rank them:

(1) Fox is the most partisan and untruthful.
(2) CBS is the second-most-partisan and untruthful.
etc

(Print, NPR and the Internet are the least partisan and the most truthful. People who get their news from print, NPR and the Internet are the MOST INFORMED.)

Internet, print and NPR news addicts have been noticing for years that Bush is the most untruthful and dangerous person ever to occupy the Oval Office. Now people who haven't been paying much attention (Fox viewers, CBS viewers - who got suckered for a while into watching censored news) are starting to wake up and notice too - as Bush keeps lying about WMD that were never found, as he keeps lying saying that Saddam wouldn't let the inspectors in when Saddam actually DID let inspectors in, as he keeps lying talking about No Child Left Behind while cutting children's education funding, as he keeps lying about the half-trillion-dollar-a-year deficit, as he keeps lying in his budget which includes NO money for the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan, as he keeps lying claiming that the economy is getting better while he's actually the ONLY president since Hoover who's been losing thousands of jobs a month (and now the IMF is for the first time in history warning AMERICA that our debt ratio is too high - like Argentina's was), as he keeps running from questions about whether he was AWOL or a deserter (the ONLY major politician who refuses to release his military records), as he keeps trying to prevent the 9/11 commission and the 9/11 widows from finding out why he ignored all the warnings leading up to 9/11 and why he overrode the FBI and let the his old business partners (the Bin Laden family) fly around the country on 9/12 while the FAA kept the airspace closed to all other flights, as he refuses to attend any funerals or allow any media coverage for the over 500 dead soldiers in the war he lied to get us into, as he tries to cover for the traitor at the White House who outed Valerie Plame, and as Cheney desperately tries to prevent anyone from proving that his "energy meetings" way before 9/11 were actually just planning sessions for invading Iraq and punishing them for selling oil for Euros and starting the dollar's 30% crash. And don't even mention earlier messes like the way Bush glossed over Enron - when Enron was the BIGGEST financial fraud in the history of the world and Kenny Lay was the BIGGEST backer of Bush throughout W's career. And don't even mention how Bush operatives stole the last election in Florida with computers (Choicepoint) and yuppie thugs (the Republican operatives who shut down the Miami-Dade vote count).

People are waking up and looking at Bush's so-called budget (which the New York Times called a "Pinocchio budget") - a budget really designed to destroy the Federal goverment and bring about Grover Norquist's dream of being able to "drown the Federal goverment in a bathtub" - a budget which runs for only 5 years instead of the customary 10 (because during the second five years the most horrendous deficits in the many TRILLIONS start to kick in, which will effectively destroy the Federal goverment and probably the world economy as well) - a budget which SLASHES every single social program such as education, healthcare, Medicare, environmental protection and increases money for just three things: law enforcement, "homeland security" (domestic surveillance) and defense (pre-emptive war based on faulty intelligence) - plus massive tax cuts for people who don't need them (people who make over 300 thousand a year).

People are starting to realize that the Republicans are trying to rig the voting machines (Diebold) and silence the media (Powell at the FCC trying to allow further consolidation) and corrupt the courts (Cheney paying to take Scalia on hunting trips) and maybe even prevent certain people from getting on domestic flights using a secret computer program whose decisions to bounce passengers can't be appealed (CAPPS II) - and they're starting to figure out why: Hey - maybe the Republicans are scared they can't control the country unless they censor our media and hack our votes and and stack the courts and shred the Bill of Rights! People are starting to realize how weak the Republican party is - weak the way all petty tyrants are. People are starting to say - hey - do I really want a country with more cops, more domestic surveillance, more FBI invasions of privacy, civil rights stripped away, bought-and-paid judges and legislators and regulators, half of the Bill of Rights gutted by the Patriot Act - and no healthcare, no jobs, no education for the kids, no retirement money or prescription drugs for the old folks, no clean air and water - and constant meaningless terror alerts rather than intelligence that really protects us? We're supposed to be the richest country in the world - and people are slowly realizing that Bush and his cronies have for some wierd reason been hell-bent on turning us into some kind of paranoid poverty-stricken banana republic / gulag. And people are starting to say: "Why?"

The "how" is only gradually becoming clear. Part of the Republican game plan has been censoring the media. Remember that Fox was the FIRST station to call the stolen election for Bush in 2000 - and it was some guy in Bush's family working for Fox who made that bogus call.

The turning point for Fox was probably that poll last fall, that showed that Fox viewers were THE MOST MISINFORMED about Iraq in comparison with people who got their news from other major media outlets:

http://www.urbanblight.net/archives/000438.html
http://www.current.org/news/news0319study.shtml

Note: CBS viewers were SECOND-MOST-MISINFORMED after Fox viewers when it came to Iraq. CBS has recently been exposed for censoring a tame political ad from MoveOn.org which criticized Bush for running up over a trillion dollar deficit.

So, Strategist, just because Martha is having a tough time in the courts doesn't mean that Fox and CBS and Bush and Rush aren't being exposed as liars. Martha really has nothing to do with the beginning of the end of the Republican Party.

From http://maddox.xmission.com/c.cgi?u=bill_oreilly

Everything about this guy is obsessive. He speaks with an obnoxious cadence and rhythm, careful to chant the same handful of phrases over and over again. His entire repertoire of insults range from the versatile "ideologue" (oh no, don't call me an advocate of a particular ideology, anything but that! Dumbass), to "demonizer," and "ridiculous." In fact, he repeats these phrases on his show, "The O'Reilly Factor," so many times, you could play a game of Bingo while tuned in. Simply print out the following sheet and mark a square each time he does or says anything listed. You win when you get 5 in a row (horizontal, vertical or diagonal):

45. ROFLOL---Wolfman and Tim Russert, who the hell are they trying to kid?
During a CNN session in Hollywood last month, anchor Wolf Blitzer told TV critics, "If you're distorting, or if you're tilting towards one side, believe me, that will come through very, very quickly. And you'll be slapped very quickly, as you should be."

It seemed to be an obvious jab at Fox and its oft-alleged conservative bent. But in a separate interview, Blitzer demurred.

"Look, Fox does a lot of stuff really well, and they do a lot of good reporting," he said. "They're all pretty much really solid."

"Meet the Press" moderator Tim Russert, who regularly contributes to MSNBC, told TV critics that if viewers "believe that someone is biased and someone is not playing it straight . . . they're going to turn you off."

Oh brother.........get out the GD hipwaders for this crap.
