Poll question: What topics are most compelling to you? (poll)
Edited on Sat Feb-07-04 10:07 AM by G_j
What type of GD thread is most compelling to you? Do you like to discuss articles, news events or specific personalities, action alerts etc. What draws your attention first?
I doubt if my choices are adequate so just include your "other" if you like.

I'm not sure if a poll can really cover this, but I've never created one before and I'm just curious. peace, G_j

I vote "Other."

It's a good question, if impossible to answer -- although I would say the more outrageous a news item (e.g., FBI warning about drivers carrying almanacs) or bizarre a viewpoint (e.g., "Rush is right -- now hear me out..."), the more likely I am to participate, or at least read the thread in full.

The most compelling issues are, naturally, those that affect me personally (obviously, gay rights is at the top of the list) -- but I'm not a one-issue poster (or voter), and don't limit myself to those issues.

I will admit to a bit of an obsession for anything related to PNAC -- and I adore any post containing long lists of contradictory RW quotes, with sources and dates, or any post that exposes RWers as hypocritical buttheads. LOL

Otherwise, I force myself to read and consider subjects that are deadly dull to me (I won't name which ones!), because I owe it to myself and to the world around me to stay aware of issues that have no bearing whatsoever on my own life.

I hope that's what other people do, too.
