5. What this article omits, that was reported yesterday on NPR, is ...
... the stated reason that the US State Dept. denied entry visas to these Cuban musicians. The State Departments reasons that the musicians work for the state (Cuba) and are paid by the state. Income derived from royalties for what should be their intellectual property goes to the state. Since royalty income often far exceeds the paltry wages these musicians are paid by the state, some of that excess goes to the Castro regime to foment all sorts of evil in Cuba and around the world.

However, as NPR pointed out, it is an election year and there is that big Cuban-American vote in Jethro's B-9-O Republic of Florida. White House election year politics has now touched the Grammy Awards. Sad, and not at all surprising.
