Concerning Bush's reactions on and responses to the "incidents" of Sept 11

2001.

Who was bothered and who was not surprised, that during the "incidents" and "terrorist emergency" of September 11, 2001 that Bush ran off like a "chickenpoop" while New York burned.


Count me in the "not surprised at all camp," for after those incidents happened, I even made up my own version of "The Yellow Shrub Of Texas," though that was about a year after the incidents of September 11 2001.

On edit, I wondered if anyone was all the more unnerved or bothered by Bushie's or *'s actions had then New York Mayor Guiliani had to be AWML or Absent With Medical Leave (for don't forget, he also survived prostatic cancer) and he could have had to have all sorts of medical appointments on that day.

On double edit, I also wondered how many others were also bothered by how Bush or * seemed to leave the United States "high and dry" in the leadership department, especially when it counted, when he especially, is supposed to be the one in charge.

1. I used to think it was fear..

Now I believe that he dodged across the heartland because of guilt and what he, if he was a mature adult, would recognized as remorse. He ran from the horror that he committed, in order not to internalize the magnitude of his crime.

embarrassment or :blush: at what he'd allowed to transpire that caused him to run off like that.

2. An interesting anecdote

I was in a job that required me to "miss" most of the TV coverage that day despite being in an affected city. When I did catch some coverage I honestly thought that the President* was a hostage. I quickly learned that he was giving some sort of statement from an AFB in Louisiana (I was told that at any rate). He was slumped in a chair, mumbling about "folks" that did the bombings and looked frightened.

Imagine my surprise later when I realized that:
a. this was his "reassurance" of the country
b. within two days this all would be called "masterful"

I thought he looked pathetic then. I thought he was worthless in a crisis and I NEVER was among those who "rallied" to him. It was the last straw for me with that guy. Everything since has been more of the same.

4. Bet you liked Clinton all the more when you learned that

he actually beat Bushie to NY by about 2 days or so, even though he was out of the country at the time.

Yes, I expected him to return to DC---not the chaos of NYC that day because large scale rescue thought to initially be needed and order needed to be returned (not a fancy disruptive visit by his majesty). But, returning to the WH: YES, I did expect that. That would have equalled Clinton's showing up first in NYC. Or, at least it would have shown some control of the situtaion and concern for Americans. Instead the coward hid out.

What I despised was the craven way he ran around the country, lied about the reason and pathetically mumbled through some appearance enroute like a hostage. That he did not do any thing useful and then stood on the very graves of the lost in New York and crowed like the banty rooster he is was and is still: disgraceful.

Always was a coward, always will be.

President Clinton when the Oklahoma City Federal Building was bombed, more reassuring.
