12. er... more credibility gap fodder? |
|
lead on the article: President Bush on Wednesday will make a major policy speech on combating the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, a senior administration official said.
From the same administration that was so concerned about the proliferation of WMDs that they blew up an entire CIA intelligence operation on this very issue - by outing an undercover agent in an attempt to blunt political criticism of Bush's false claims about Iraq trying to secure nuclear material from Niger.
From the same administration who ordered securing of oil resources in Iraq immediately after the invasion - but did not secure nuclear energy related sites allowing them to be looted.
So W is trying to rebuild his credibility for the campaign on National Security... by trotting out an area in which his own administration has shown little regard for - being distracted by political gamesmanship (ending an important intelligence gathering operation on WMDs) and distracted by protecting corporate cronies $ interests.

The Weapons of Mass Destruction Boogie.
WMD proliferation? Isn't that what Valerie What's er name was working before Traitor Novak outed her.
Bush has no credibility on this issue, he fooled us once, this is going to be a much harder sell.

10. Just think how much MORE he could address about... |
|
...the global WMD issue IF his administration HADN'T outed the CIA operative whose specialty WAS WMD's...
That little stunt probably did more to undermine national security than anything else they've done (besides invading a sovereign nation "pre-emtively" and unilaterally). I wonder how much Plame knew about the Pakistani nuke scientist's little moonlighting operation? Could she have been on to it, only to be undermined BY HER OWN GOVERNMENT???

11. Stay on message, hit the talking points |
|
We saw it yesterday with Snotty and I read about Condi doing the same thing with Katie Couric this morning.
The more they do it, the more it will be seen as obfuscation. This is getting good. They need a distraction from it all -- that's the scary part. What will they cook up next?

The only support he has is from the neo-cons. The rest of the world looks at him in disbelief every time he opens his mouth. He has cried wolf too often. The rest of world is saying "Shut up already."
