Janet's breast vs. 9-11 investigation

What a spectacle! Today, they are having a panel discussion and a commission has been formed by top government officials to look into what went wrong at the Super Bowl halftime festivities. The horror!
A woman's breast on live prime time t.v.! It's the end of the ------ world! Let's have an IMMEDIATE investigation into this atrocity to morality, this affront to all that is virtuous, this outrage of a woman's breast being seen by our defenseless children.

It's perfectly o.k. for Janet to hump Justin's leg, or bump and grind like a cheap stripper, (not only o.k., I actually enjoy that kind of thing), and it's alright to show men knocking the ---- out of each other, and cheerleaders showing their panties, etc. But show a human female breast without the appropriate, socially acceptable fabric covering.....it's just outrageous!

Now the spectacle of a bunch of stuffy, conservative white men, and Colin Powell's little boy Michael, speaking in ominous tones about the grave state of our union, after being exposed to Janet Jackson's body part. "What will we tell the children?" "How can we prevent such a horror from ever occurring again?" "Everyone knows that seeing a ladies breast is worse than seeing dead Iraqi babies". The pompous outrage of the senators and congressmen, all of whom actually enjoy looking at a nice female breast on occasion, the indignant posturing and mock shock. What a spectacle.

Meanwhile, the investigations into 9-11 go on being stonewalled and delayed and diluted and covered up. It's been several years after the event, and still, no real investigation has begun in earnest. But witness the swiftness of the start of a commission to look into Janet Jackson's breast. Within 10 days of the event, important looking men are sitting around a table acting as if this exposure of a female body part were the end of civilization itself. We can see where their priorities are. Find out who, what, where, and why regarding 9-11 and you've got roadblocks and obfuscations. But Janet's mammalian protruberance sends them into immediate, emergency mode. "Gentlemen, we MUST GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS BREAST THING!"

Sort of reminds me of what they did to the last legally elected president, Bill Clinton. The moral outrage and indignity of the man, chasing women, getting caught, lying about it, he must be impeached at all costs! The total insanity of these men politically assassinating Clinton for 8 years, was a sickening spectacle.

And how much money will be spent investigating Janet Jackson's breast?
These hearings aren't pro bono. Look what they spent investigating Whitewater, and Monica. Let's have a hearing! Let's give the brain dead voters the illusion that we are actually earning a living up here. That 9-11 investigation though, that one can wait a while.
But this breast thing has to be cleared up immediately boys. That'll impress the Born-Again voting block bigtime. Morality, decency, that sort of thing.

And while I'm ranting, I don't believe the 'official story' about 9-11. I've always thought it suspect that they had the whole official story, names and pics of the hijackers, osama's involvement, THE VERY NEXT DAY. I'm just the kind of a nut who doesn't believe the bushco
official story about anything. It's been proven time and again that they have lied to us thousands of times in 3 years. Clinton was crucified over one little lie. w gets a free pass for his chronic lies. If they lied to us about why they went to war and killed 15,000 people, why wouldn't they lie about the 3,000 who perished on 9-11? Using the republican standard, if you lied once, you are a congenital liar. If they lied to us about the Iraq war, they lied to us about 9-11.

Do I know the actual truth about 9-11? No, I don't. But I definitely don't believe the official bushco story either.

And to see millionaire elected officials sitting around a table in a vaporish hissy fit over Janet Jackson's breast, while the 9-11 commission gets pushed off the front page, makes me puke.

They think its ok to just deny documents and appropriate clearances to the 911 comission. After all, it was just, at the very best, Criminal Negligence on the part of the Bush Administration which led to the deaths of 3,000 innocent American citizens and untold billions in damages. We don't need to really investigate that, do we? The findings could be horrific and disturbing. Also, quite damning for many in Washington.

But, find an easy case of morals and standards that can done in a matter of hours and suddenly everyone is behind this! Gotta get that "morality" and "think of the children" vote.

Sure, the right wing is horrified at the thought of their children seeing one breast (and no nipple) for half a second on live TV (assuming they were looking at that instant). But apparently it doesn't alarm them that their 18 year old son, who I guess just saw his first breast on TV, could die for Bush and Cheney in Iraq if Bush gets his way?

My favorite irony is the horrendous, unbelievably grotesque commercial they ran in the first few minutes of the game for an upcoming horror movie called "Wolfman". It would have kept any child -- let alone many adults -- in the throes of nightmares for weeks. But that's perfectly all right. A

I'm really happy to see you back. If you ever get an urge to give one of your famous, full-bore rants, complete with profanity, try this:

Start a thread with the bare minimum: "September 11th hasn't been investigated as thouroughly as the Janet Jackson/Superbowl event. Blah, blah, blah. See reply below."

Then reply to your own thread and copy and paste your real rant there. It satisfies the rules around these parts, and we all get the benefit of the uncensored rant. Just a thought.

11. The reason is because it's easy

People don't have to think about it, just react. A naked breast goes straight to our emotional core because of societal conditioning. You're either repulsed and shocked by it or you're sexually stimulated by it — sometimes a combination of the two, which is even more arousing and confusing.

However, investigating 9-11 is much more complex and requires us to engage our brains. The schools and the media are conditioning us to not be able to do that any longer. For fascism and theocracy to succeed, you can't have critical thinking, just emotional responses to simple stimuli.
