RIGHT-WING CULTURALLY INSENSITIVE QUOTE OF THE DAY: "I have seen these liberal psychologists and sociologists talk about there is no need for the man in the family. The woman can take care of it. A woman can take care of the family. It takes a man to provide structure. To provide stability. " – House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-TX), in an interview, on the role of women in the home. (Christine DeLay "quickly realized that her hubby was treading on dangerous territory," admonishing, "Let's edit this out," she said. "This is not a good thing for you to be saying.")

1. all of which goes to prove
that the best thing you can do in your life is get attached to someone smarter than you are. Nothing like having a spouse/partner whatever, who is capable of telling you you're being an idiot when you are.

2. Tom DeLay isn't even on speaking terms with his own mother
or others in his immediate family.

6. Washington Post did a long profile on DeLay
about a year ago, and stated this. He's on the outs with his brothers, too, as I remember. He grew up in Venezuela, where his father was working.

7. Uh huh
DeLay believes that you only have to keep 6 of the Ten Commandments at any given time.

He hasn't spoken to his mother in years, even though she lives less than 15 miles from him. She's a very sweet and modeat little lady who wasn't even invited to Tom's daughter's wedding.

Tom DeLay is just a shiver looking for a spine to run up.

5. That is too funny! It looks like MRS.Delay not only took care of
the situation, she tried to provide structure(edit the comment) and stability by stopping him before he could do more damage!

It must be painful to be THAT wrong, huh bugman?
