Leno Savages Bush on AWOL, Outsourcing, WMD, Credibility, etc etc etc
Edited on Fri Feb-13-04 11:44 PM by cryofan
During the monologue, he just UNLOADED on Bush! His basic theme: Bush is gone by November.
If this keeps up for long, Bush won't even get the nomination.
The TV talk shows like Leno, et al, are where most people get their politics info from, ya know.

Anyone else see this; and what did Letterman do?

1. Letterman mentioned the Kerry thing...
Edited on Fri Feb-13-04 11:50 PM by Scurrilous
....I don't remember the joke exactly, but he said something to the effect that Kerry was alleged to be involved with an intern and that Clinton (out of habit) denied it was him.

3. I didn't see all of Letterman's opening
monologue, but all I heard him tell was a lame Kerry-Clinton-intern joke.
:eyes:

6. Clinton fucked us good
We need to come to terms with this. Clinton knew they were gunning for him, and, out of arrogance or downright lack of discipline, copped blowjobs from a White House intern. Given the stakes, that was utter selfishishness. Whether or not the campaign against him was legitimate is immaterial; it was effective , and probably, as the Clinton-Deity folks say, made the election close enough to steal. If we can laugh about Clinton's foibles, it will at least help us learn that Clinton, for all his good works (and there were some), betrayed us all by his recklessness.

5. Didn't see it; can you please go into a bit more detail?
I don't mean re-type the whole monologue; just a few more tidbits. Thanks

7. Leno-Bush joke
caught this by accident (hate Leno) before I could switch to Letterman:
repeats news that Bush* does have a witness to all of his Guard service and shows a clip from the 50s of a blind man with a seeing eye dog.

Another-0--for the life of me I can't recall---whose punch line was that something or other would be gone in November like bush*!

8. One of the * jokes from Leno's monologue
I can't remember it word for word, but it went something like this: Leno said that the Bush administration kept saying that it was great for the economy that more and more jobs were being outsourced while at the same time people all over were getting put out of work. Then Leno said, "Of course, we'll see if Bush still feels the same way about this come November."

9. Leno & Letterman follow the polls
They kick 'em when they're down, and it's hands-off when they're up.

10. Leno, especially, is pathetic
I can't stand to watch him, and when I do, it's another Clinton's penis joke. Gee, that was funny the first 2,377 times I heard it.

Thursday Night February 12

Leno

I was watching TV last night and I saw an interesting documentary on TV last night about the ninja – you know, the Japanese soldiers. According to the legend, the ninjas were warriors who could make themselves invisible whenever we fought in a war. You know, kinda like George Bush in the National Guard.

The White House has now released military documents that they say prove Bush "met his requirements" while in the National Guard. Hey, big deal, we have documents that prove Al Gore won the election – that don't mean anything.

Actually, the White House did say today, during the Vietnam War President Bush was listed as MIA – Missing in Alabama.

President Bush has an explanation. He said he did go to Alabama, but when he didn't find any weapons of mass destruction, didn't find any, and went back to Texas.

Wednesday Night February 11

Leno

Yesterday President Bush stopped off at a bass pro fishing store to pick up a fishing reel, some line and some rubber worms. He’s going to disappear and go fishing. So he must think he’s back in the National Guard again.

Critics are now saying that his dad got him out of going to Vietnam. Although to his credit, his dad did get him to go to Iraq.

Does this bother a lot of people? Who cares if Bush did his job in the National Guard 30 years ago – I’m more frightened about the job he’s doing now.

Tuesday Night February 10

Leno

President Bush was on "Meet the Press” on Sunday. A lot of his White House staffers thought it was a bad idea. It was a better than him going on "Jeopardy”.

There was one embarrassing moment when President Bush was asked if he was ever A.W.O.L. and he said "No we have Earthlink.”

.........

Tons more at link.

14. George W Bush -- ninja warrior
Actually, I kind of like that ludicrous image. The Dems could probably get some mileage out of ridiculing him that way.
