1. A promo blurb on Pappy from the link
Barr McClellan is a respected attorney, who represented President Lyndon Johnson and his interests from 1966 through 1971.

He served primarily through Texas power attorney Edward Clark and Johnson business attorney Don Thomas, advising on political strategy, campaign contributions, attorney-client privilege issues, television and labor disputes.

He was also personal attorney for Clark in seeking an assassination bonus from Big Oil interests in Dallas, an effort that included two major lawsuits.

A practicing attorney representing many of the major energy companies in Texas in many key cases, McClellan also obtained a Supreme Court ruling to protect parklands from freeways.

Other notable cases included litigation for exploding Ford Pintos, tobacco-caused cancer expenses on the health system, licensing and regulation of cell phones, union-management disputes, and several business tort cases.

3. I'm pretty sure that Scotty's brother is an FDA administrator.
When the Mad cow scare began he was on talking about the safety of US beef.

She has her sights set on replacing Governor Goodhair (Rick PERRY, he of the TX redistricting-Tom DeLAY theft). But before Scott gets over his post-traumatic-stress-disorder from the crumbling Shrub regime, there will have to be sessions between him and mommy around the question, "How come Brother got the cushy FDA job, while I got this hellhole press secty job for Shrub? Did you like Brother better?"

Maybe she'll "go Hispanic" for the Hispanic vote: Carole Keeton McClellan Rylander Strayhorn-GONZALEZ MARTINEZ BUSTAMANTE.

Now that Carole Keeton McClellan Rylander Strayhorn has remarried (again), do you suppose they'll rename 26th Street to match?

Kika, technically the street is named after her father, former Dean of the UT Law School. But I've always figured it was really named in tribute to Carole K.M.R.S. and if she weren't a powerful politician, UT and the city could've found somebody else to name it after.

She is married to Ed Strayhorn, the founder and president of the oldest tennis court construction business in Texas. Mr. Strayhorn also is an accomplished jewelry designer whose works are on display in galleries across America.

They are the proud parents of five grown sons, and proud grandparents of four young granddaughters.

Her son, Scott McClellan is the new White House Press Secretary.

8. Actually, 26th St Is Just "Dean Keeton St"
Edited on Sat Feb-14-04 08:18 PM by UTUSN
The "Keeton McCLELLAN RYLANDER STRAYHORN" part is, indeed, Carole's collection of surnames, but just a joke at the street named in political sychophancy for her father, Dean KEETON.

How to Get to UT Austin
The University of Texas at Austin is located in the heart of the city of Austin, just north of the downtown area. Campus is just two miles from the State Capitol. Main thoroughfares around campus include Guadalupe to the west, MLK to the south, Red River to the east and 26th (Dean Keeton) to the north. Check out the main area map of the university.

IH-35
Take MLK Boulevard exit heading west for South campus; campus will be on your right. Or take 26th Street (Dean Keeton Street) exit heading west for North campus; campus will be on your left.
