Let's say that Cardiac Cheney lapses into a coma...
Although Bush has made it clear that Cheney will be his VP, hypothetically, if Cheney became unable to continue into the summer and fall due to "health problems," who do you think Bush would choose to replace Cheney as his V.P.?

Tom Ridge

Bill Frist

Chuck Hagel

Richard Lugar

Condoleezza Rice

David Dreier

George Pataki

Jon Kyl

Elizabeth Dole

Mitt Romney

Bill Owens

Mitch McConnell

Pete Domenici

And then there are the nightmare possibilities...

Ashcroft

Rumsfeld

Wolfowitz

Santorum

2. McCain and Snowe...
While I like both of them (especially Snowe), neither of them on the ticket would ever compel me to cast my vote for BastardWhoWantsToRapeTheConstitution.

Isn't there too much bad blood between McCain and Bush? I'd think McCain would be too proud to accept the VP slot, plus he is up for senatorial reelection this year.

As for Snowe, I've heard many speculate that both she and Collins would be too moderate (not to mention too pro-choice) for the Christian Right to accept as Bush's VP.

9. I don't think Snowe would accept.

The rumors persist that she is 'this close' to doing the same thing Sen. Jeffords did, and that she and Senators Collins and Chafee find * more repugnant with each passing day.

3. Funny thread title,
and I do wonder about this. What about Rudolph "9/11" Giuliani, former mayor of NYC, where the Republican Convention will be held shortly before the election? Sorry if I have unleashed the :tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat: 's.

4. We NEED Chaney on the ticket
It would be Rudy the Wonder Man, and terra all over again. With Chaney we can keep working on Halliburton/Enron connections.

5. I agree
Cardiac Cheney would be a much easier target than any new VP.

I'm just preparing us for the possibility, in case something does *happen* to Haliburton Dick.

10. I think DU should hold a fundraiser for new batteries
for Haliburton Dick's "paddles in the chest." I certainly hope he isn't getting his replacements through the White House. We want Electric Dick recharged and on the ticket in 2004.

8. Giuliani probably not sufficiently conservative
Edited on Sat Feb-14-04 08:00 AM by Ron_GreensboroNC
Isn't he pro-choice? He would probably cause many fundies to stay home; the GOP (gruesome oppressive pigs) has already alienated many fiscal conservatives.

On edit: Likeliest from that list are Ridge & (less so) Sanctimonium; Rove is obsessed with winning PA (hasn't w been there like 25 times since he got installed?).

12. Cheney is in a coma.
How about the ex-mayor of New York? Rudy's 9/11 show of strength beats Georgie's "where in the world is George Bush" escapade.

16. i hope nobody stands too close to cheney with a powerful magnet
Edited on Sun Feb-15-04 02:24 PM by ElsewheresDaughter
my son is doing a science projectthe hypothesis: Can magnets be used to remove heavy metals from drinking water? titled "Fatal Attraction"
.......like lead, chromium, zinc and mercury (he is very concerned about E-waste too).......when i read about these batteries it their effects on electronics.

NOTE! These Neodymium-Iron-Boron Magnets are extremely powerful, and can be dangerous they could cause malfunctions in cardiac pacemakers if brought too close.

17. Condi would be the smart choice.
Whether one likes her politics are not, one has to admit that she has ability. She is articulate, plays concert level piano, speaks Russian, and is a black woman. She is also pro-choice, yet their base loves her. She would be a very dangerous opponent for us.
